2nd time I’ve stayed here. First time for work. Second time, pleasure. Great atmosphere in the pub and restaurant. Good quality food and drinks. Excellent service. Well appointed. Love the converted stable block accommodation. Clean and well presented.

Brilliant location, nice room, small but had everything, great breakfast and friendly staff. The only thing I can think of that wasn’t perfect was the fact I couldn’t seem to turn the outside light off but other than that it was brilliant. Will be back

I was so impressed with the friendliness of the staff so helpful and polite. It seemed to me that nothing was too much trouble. That staff friendliness was so important to me and made my stay so good

The room was in poor condition. The toilet badly stained. The bathroom floor had not been cleaned. The woodwork damaged and unsightly on the plus side the staff were friendly and we had a nice meal . About 15 minute drive to Henley. Playhatch itself has nothing to offer so you need to drive out.

Bedroom stank of bleach … upon investigation this wasn’t coming from bathroom …hideous Safety light above door to room shone so green all night as to thwart decent sleep One of pair of bedside lamps was broken (lampshade propped unconvingsing on top of lamp base) Towel rail in bathroom corroded and rusty

The coffee was very good… most of the staff were charming but unfortunately some were not! The dinner was ok but a bit rich and fussy, the breakfast disappointing and the staff serving breakfast seemed inconvenienced by us showing up on time! The rooms in converted stables were cozy though the bed sank in the middle. Be warned they use a booking system EVIIVO that takes out the room fee a few days before arrival and puts it in pending in your account. It then stays in pending for several days after you’ve settled your bill which basically means you pay twice for your room for at over a week! I phoned The Crown and asked for the pending payment to be removed and was told it takes between 3 to 5 working days which frankly is a scam!
