Overall we enjoyed our stay at Anastasia’s place in embonas. It was a unique stay with a true Greek mountain village stay. We were a 5 adult family group. The space was a bit more tight than we expected. The bathrooms are both in the sleeping spaces with the shower in the final bedroom requiring movement through two sleeping spaces to access the shower. The kitchen is part of the third sleeping space. So basically the home is made up of three sleeping spaces. The entry area is the main living area with the kitchen and a couch that turns into a bed for the 5th person. The washing machine is also in this area. The washing machine is quite loud making it hard to use when you need to be inside. If you leave the home, the washing machine will turn off because the key is required to run the electricity. We had issues with the refrigerator (which Anastasia later explained was important to ensure it closes completely) and also with the shower. The shower runs on solar power so with so many adults in the house we ran out of hot water. Anastasia later explained there is back up power for the shower but we are unaware. Overall we enjoyed staying in the historical home but would have appreciated some more information about using the washer, the refrigerator and the solar powered shower. But all that said, Anastasia was very responsive and apologetic for our difficulties. If you are looking for an authentic small mountain village experience, Anastasia’s home will provide that.
