"This hotel was excellent! Seems somewhat new. Very clean. Large suite. I was very surprised and happy with the size of the room. Staff was extremely helpful, professional and genuinely kind. I was very impressed with the professionalism and appearance of the night front desk staff! Mechelle (spelling?) I believe. It was refreshing to see professional dress and welcoming at 1am! Morning front desk was very kind and helpful too. So nice to hear, have a blessed day on the phone and when I checked out. It shows that the management of this hotel is professional and has high standards by the staff and overall experience at this hotel! Keep up the great work in today’s “struggling works”. You all shine!"

Westcott Mansion with Pickleball Court & Huge Gazebo

"As a lover of architecture, it scratched the itch to stay in a historic mansion. Like much of Richmond, IL, this house was many decades past its prime, witnessed by the broken car parked out front and the 70's apartment complex that overlooks its backyard. The home has tons of space and some beautiful original features, but you have to balance them with the broken, mismatched thrift store furniture, the challenging lack of outlets/strangely placed switches and dusty old curtains some on broken rods. We appreciated the renovated bathrooms and good water pressure, but were cringing by the lack of mattress pads, colorful microfiber sheets and old mismatched towels. Sharpened knives and ice were also missing. For a stay that cost slightly more than a chain hotel, we were satisfied, and applaud owners who are trying to maintain a significant old home, but wouldn't be excited to return to the home in it's current condition because there just weren't enough inviting spaces despite all the square footage."

"We stayed here for Miami University's 2026 graduation, and it was perfect. This was our second time at this property, as we also stayed here for our daughter's graduation in 2024. Only 33 minutes to campus on back roads worked for us, and the house was perfectly appointed. We shared the house with another family, and there was plenty of space. "

"Air conditioner was broken, was told by front desk we could get the room cleaned at noon and the communication with front desk to housekeeping is poor, remote is coming apart food in fridge when we checked in, someone’s silverware was in the kitchen and no batteries in the fire alarm just wish they cared more about there rooms and keeping them together"

"Don’t let the exterior of the hotel fool you, the rooms have been refurbished and they are quite nice. I would hold them up against Holiday Inn express rooms. The staff is the shining part of the hotel, the second you arrive you greeted by Debbie who is an absolute sweetheart, and will treat you like family, no need will go unattended. Richard in the kitchen in the morning will make you eggs to your order, this is a big plus. A+"
