"The Sevana doesn’t look like much from the outside, but inside is spacious with lots of public seating areas and great views from the rooftop. We stayed here on two separate occasions and both times it was very good. Rooms are comfortable, staff are helpful. There’s a filtered water fountain with reusable glass bottles you can take to your room. The hotel organised a car and driver for us; both the car and the driver were very good, which is not always the case in Sri Lanka. There’s not many good eating options nearby, but we did find a good little restaurant across the road which did excellent dosas. It’s easy to get a tuk tuk to wherever you want to go. "

"The hotel is perfectly placed to walk to the temple, lake and market. A 20 min walk of brief tuk tuk ride from the station. Reasonably comfortable bed with a private en-suite. The only issue was that one wall of the room is a floor to ceiling window that looks onto the hallway and lets in light from the hall until it is switched off around 11pm. So maybe ask which rooms might be best if you prefer the dark! Air con very good and warm shower. The food is delicious, both breakfast and dinner. Highly recommend the Sri Lankan breakfast tho you have to book it the day before. Very VERY lovely and helpful staff! "

"This is a very nice small hotel. Room was spacious for the three of us (my husband, me and my son), comfortable bed and clean. however, this is situated on a very noisy road and also the train passes next to the hotel. nevertheless i was so tired that it was not a problem sleeping. "

"Good clean property with decent air con, and very helpful staff. Great location in Kandy close to main attractions. Quality of hotel quite basic but good given the budget price, didn’t have any food so can’t comment on this. Would go back again especially if wanting a more budget option in Kandy. "
