" We had a very comfortable and enjoyable 2-week holiday staying in this charming and very well-equipped property. The property is light, airy, spacious and effectively can be used as a holiday for two families or groups should they want or need their own space. Laurence lives very close by and was very easy to contact. She was friendly, pleasant, attentive, and helpful and not in any way intrusive. The online pictures are a very accurate representation of the house and gardens. The property has easy access to several chateaux and interesting local towns (Chinon, Bourgeuil, Saumur, Langeais) and is a 5-minute drive from Azay-le-Rideau. The downstairs bedroom is wonderfully cool in hot weather and quiet. The owner supplied plenty of good fans to use in the hot weather in other parts of the house. The surroundings and gardens were extensive, very attractive and quiet affording lots of privacy and different areas for our family to enjoy relaxing and playing and ready access to local and immediate walks in adjacent forests. A delightful spot. This is a very good area for cycling providing varied and interesting routes either near to the Loire river or through pretty villages. The swimming pool is heated and secured and is in the garden which makes it very convenient and a great asset to your holiday."

"Lovely loft apartment- although hot on arrival ( it was hot in France at that time) we had lots of fans to cool us down. The apartment had everything we needed and the Jacuzzi was wonderful after being out in the day.Supermarket, restaurants all very close so the location was very convenient. The BBQ was a bonus."

"Well appointed gite in a very quiet hamlet very close to Azay-Le-Rideau. The gite has been well renovated, has a large garden and is very weĺl equipped. The hosts were charming and helpful and although they lived next door, were very unobtrusive yet always available for advice/help. Would be very happy to come back again."

"We stayed at Le Grand Monarque, Azay-le-Rideau for 3 nights. Everything was great: central location, large room, very quiet and they have a parking location near by. All staff at the reception was wonderful but I would like to give our special thanks to Isabelle. She was above and beyond making recommendations, booking restaurants, suggesting stores and point if interests. Thank you, Isabelle for your fantastic job! "

"From the moment we arrived until the moment we left we were looked after very well by Phillipe, Natasha and the staff. Our room was very comfortable, the bathroom was a good size and the shower was very good. However, for us the highest marks should go to to the food. The breakfast had an excellent European choice. The dinners were superb. The menu was changed everyday and there was a limited but good choice of dishes. Every dish was beautifully presented and delicious. The fish and desserts were particularly good. It was a very good price for the quality. We intended to eat there just twice but only ate out at a small restaurant in the village was once. Philippe was very helpful in giving us suggestions for visits. We would definitely stay there again when we next visit France."
