About this property
A spacious apartment with a glorious private terrace in the heart of Rome.
Danza is a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment well located in the heart of one of Rome's most loved historic centers near Piazza Navona. Guests can enjoy walking to many Rome attractions, including the Vatican, the Colosseum, Campo de' Fiori, Piazza Navona, as well as shopping along Via Giubbonari and Via Coronari. The apartment is on the top floor of a small 1700's apartment building with wonderful views from the rooftop terrace as well as 'Juliet' balconies off the living and dining rooms. The building has a small elevator to the top floor as well as an original stairwell. Danza is comfortable with a casual simple style of decor, very spacious and well laid out. Another original feature is the lovely terracotta floors. The apartment has an open entry foyer. The large living room is immediately to the left. French doors at the far end enhance the room. From the living room enjoy views of the side of the church and the ever-changing scene down below of this small, inviting piazza. The living room is casually furnished with a sofa, two upholstered chairs, glass coffee table. It is a sunny, well laid-out, appealing terraced apartment a super-central location. To the right of the living room step into the full dining room, with its wonderful original checkerboard tiles. It's nice that they've been preserved as the add a special touch to the room. The attractive kitchen has handsome honed marble countertops, a large stone farmhouse sink maintain the apartment's authentic character. The kitchen has a small table with seating for two. A large window admits lots of light. There is a full refrigerator, freezer section, 4-burner gas stove, electric oven, dishwasher and washing machine. Off the living room is the first bedroom. The bedrooms are towards the back of the apartment, facing away from the street, a good feature in a thriving city like Rome where street noise from passersby and motor scooters is a given. It has 2 single beds that can be joined to form a queen-sized bed. Built-in closets and cupboards line one wall providing lots of storage for clothes, luggage. There is a small window above the beds. The en suite bathroom has a sink, shower and toilet. The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed, a large window overlooking the quiet back-building area and rooftops. There is an antique dresser and small closet. Just outside this bedroom is the second bathroom with a bathtub with shower, sink, toilet. A small eyebrow window over the tub is a cute feature. If your interest in the Danza apartment isn't already piqued, here comes the best part. The terrace! Straight ahead off the entry foyer is a stairway leading up to a small open office area (who can work with views like these?) which leads out to the enchanting terrace. Imagine starting your day in Rome with a cup of espresso, the sound of seagulls flying overhead and views of Roman rooftops and church domes! Can you figure out the churches for the five domes you can see from the terrace? There is a patio table with seating for four. The canvas awing provides shade. In the evening wander back upstairs for cocktail hour and enjoy the sounds of church bells tolling at sunset or watch waves of tiny swallows swooping and diving through the sky at twilight. The property was everything we were hoping for! Old world Italian charm, outdoor space, great location that was tucked away from the crowds, but next to all the wonderful sights, restaurants, etc. Also, Silvana was great at communicating and incredibly helpful with transportation, bag storage, etc.
Nice apartment! Everything was clean and appropriately stocked with what you would need for your stay. Host does a good job at communicating and answering questions. Great location for walking to sights in the area.
Great location, top floor, smaller 2 BR, 2 Bath apartment strictly limited to 4 people. Basic functional with A/C. Walking to everything Rome has to offer.
This apartment was in walking distance of everything we wanted to see. Our kids had a marvelous experience in Rome, (with some help from daily gelato).
Thank you!
I would highly recommend this apartment for anyone wanting to walk around Rome. 4 of us stayed at this top floor unit with a roof deck for relaxing and looking at the beautiful sights of central Rome. It has plenty of room and a floor plan that worked out perfect. The highlight was being able to walk to all the major attractions. Don’t pass on this one.
Very accommodating, perfect location, beautiful apartment
This was a perfectly smooth interaction, both with the host and the manager (who is wonderful, by the way). I am a landlord of 25 years and I’ve been hire her in a second if she ever came to the US. Thank you for a lovely stay. This is a perfect location to walk to the most beautiful parts of Rome and the apartment is great. Thank you so much will definitely refer you to others!!
Overall amazing experience for my first vrbo abroad. Communication with the manager was excellent and Francesca responded quickly to any questions during the stay. Be aware the apt is on top floor of small and steep staircase or u can take small elwvator which fits one person. Apt was as clean and as described. Excellent location just out of the craziness of tourist areas but close enough to easily walk to all major spots. Lots of great restaurants and cafes in walking distance. Loved the terrace for coffee in am or a drink in the evening. Hope to stay again in the near future.
My husband and I stayed at this apartment with another couple for 5 nights in early October. The check-in process was easy and our host was very helpful. The apartment is quite spacious and had everything we needed. The shining star of this property is the rooftop terrace and stunning views. The one thing that I didn’t love was that the toilet in the main bedroom was in the shower. But better to have it that way than not at all! We had a great time and would stay again.
Rome on the quiet side of town.... Excellent Location
The apartment was located on a quiet street but just minutes away from the "Chaos of Rome" that we came here to experience. Francesca was our "Greeter" and did an excellent job and was very helpful... communicated well. She coordinated airport transfers and suggested numerous restaurants that were favored by the locals. The nearby Trastevere area has many exceptional dining options and an active nightlife. The apartment was a very good value for the money... would definitely rent this apartment again. Thank you Francesca and Silvana
The apartment was well located in the city and most things were easily reached with in a maximum 20 minute walk or short taxi ride to Vatican and Coliseum.
Apartment was spacious, clean and has all the needed amenities but is starting to look tired - the bathrooms are in need of updating as they are dingy and poor lighting.
There is a small elevator as the apartment is on the top floor which was ideal since we had been traveling for 4 weeks and each had a large suitcase which would have been challenging to carry up the 5 flights of stairs. The elevator is small (one person and two suitcases only) so it took 2 trips up with suitcases and 2 of us walked the stairs with our carry-on bags.
Air-conditioning is available and was appreciated on a couple of the warmer days.
The kitchen is small but had everything we needed and some basic supplies such as coffee, sugar etc.
Lots of restaruants nearby so great for dinners etc.
We stayed in this apartment for a week in August with four people, two adults and two kids.
The host was great with communication, and made check in very smooth. They offered a transfer from FCO which we used. Driver was waiting for us outside of baggage claim. It was about 10 or 15 euro more than a taxi, but convenience was worth that for us.
The apartment was clean when we checked in, and was as described in the listing.
The location was perfect. A 2 minute walk to trastevere, across ponte sisto. It was great having direct access to trastevere but staying in a quiet corner. Absolutely no street noise.
It was hot when we were there. Between 95 and 100 degrees F. The two minisplit AC units kept it very cool in the apartment.
Osteria romana di simmi around the corner was the best meal we had in Rome.
The gelato place Alberto Pica around the other corner was also excellent.
This apartment is a third floor walk up (three flights of stairs). There is a small elevator but it may not be practical for a guest who isn't comfortable walking the stairs.
Overall, I highly recommend this property.

Not great
When we entered the middle bedroom, it had a profound smell of urine. It was so bad I actually bought disinfectant and scrubbed the toilet which was dirty under the rim, and around the base. The floors of the showers were dirty also. No bath mats for a flooded shower, had to call for them. They were delivered with Prosecco, and a couple more towels. The smell was still present, and now wonder if it was the mattress that smelled. Lots of padding on one of the twin beds. The owner said the smell was made from the disinfectant used. Absurd. Windows were dirty, freezer drawer had something brown frozen to it. Lettuce in the sink, and fridge and microwave not clean. We nicknamed the property the pee pee house. Nice square close by with farmers market, and restaurants. Walked to most sites.
Location handy to all the spots for our first trip to Rome: close to Jewish Quarter, Campo de Fieri square for morning market with fresh produce. Short walk to Argentina bus and taxi plaza. We stayed here with my 85 year old dad. Loved the outdoor terrace for relaxing after busy sightseeing and the elevator is why we could stay on top floor.
Showers are very low pressure water. Kitchen well stocked with crockery. Was some olive oil etc in cupboard which was nice to not need to buy all that stuff when we wanted to have a dinner at apartment.
Location is superb and the roof deck is wonderful. Our host was very responsive and did her very best to address a few plumbing issues - some of which were the fault of the municipality and part of life in an historic structure / city.
We had an amazing visit to Rome. The apartnent was perfect for my family of 4. The location was excellent and we really enjoyed our morning coffee on the private terrace.

Great location, quiet and spacious. The terrace was the perfect spot for morning coffee. The apartment needs some repair and the poor water pressure in the main shower is a significant problem.
Historic unit in historic location. Walk to all Rome's famous historic locales. Bathroom #2 is very tight. Water pressure is low, and stairs are steep. But you have to remember where you are staying. In a very awesome old, historic neighborhood, walking distance to everything! Food, shops, sites, markets, pubs, restaurants. Would stay there again.
Our family of four stayed here and overall it was a very good experience. The apartment is very spacious with two bedrooms, two baths, a dining room, kitchen, and balcony so really allowed us to spread out. The balcony was especially nice for morning coffee. Location was very convenient to all of Rome's attractions and restaurants and communication with the host was excellent. Apartment is on the third floor and the elevator is really small so would not recommend for families with small children on older adults. Bathrooms were a bit dated with weak water pressure but other than that it is an excellent choice and we would consider staying here again.
The place was great and very much as advertised. My only recommendation is to add a wifi repeater on the main level (specifically for the living and dining rooms).
Overall worked out really well though. Great host.
