This historic 1850’s farmhouse is nestled in the woods near the Ohio River in Southern Indiana.
Perfect for families, the farmhouse offers the rare chance to unplug and reconnect. Kids can run free in the large yard, cast a line in the catch-and-release pond, and enjoy the many games and puzzles. Adults can harvest vegetables and cut flowers from the garden, enjoy bird watching in the surrounding woods, and appreciate beautiful sunsets from the pond’s dock.
Our house is 3-bedrooms with a kitchen/dining area, living room, work station, and screened-in porch. The home blends historic details with comfort—plenty of space to work from home or to relax after a day outside. Whether you’re looking for a weekend of simple pleasures or a longer stay to reconnect with a quieter rhythm, our farmhouse offers an authentic and memorable escape. We also have games and puzzles for adults and children.
The primary bedroom has a king bed and is located on the main floor. The bedroom is carpeted with an overhead fan. It has an en-suite bathroom with a tub/shower. Toiletries and towels are included.
The second bedroom has a queen bed, blackout curtains, and an overhead fan. Adjoining the bedroom is a bathroom with a shower. The bathroom has a second door that leads to the dining area.
The upstairs bedroom has two beds, a twin and a full. There are games and room to play.
The main living room includes a smart tv. A large chair pulls out into a twin-size bed for an extra guest.
The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes for cooking and baking. There is soap, dishwasher detergent, cleaning supplies and paper towels. There is also a dedicated work-from-home station in the kitchen/dining room area. High speed wi-fi throughout the house.
Guests also have access to a laundry room where the following basics are included: detergent, cleaning supplies, and should you need it, a vacuum and mop.
The attached patio is screened-in and has an overhead fan and light.
Outside, you can enjoy the fenced-in yard. There are raised garden beds to harvest vegetables when in season, a fire pit, a tire swing, and a large side yard for games or soccer. There are many areas to relax: the front porch, the side shade garden, or the back patio and deck.
There is a locked, gated pond with a small deck for catch-and-release fishing. Guests will be provided with the access code for entry.
You’ll have full access to the entire house and pond. There is ample parking to accommodate a towed boat.
You will be the only guests on the property. As with many farm stays, there may be a farmer(s) on the extended property tending to cattle for short periods of time.
We use well water. Filtered water is available in the refrigerator.
We are located 9 miles from a general store, and 15 miles to the closest grocery store. We recommend bringing groceries and supplies with you.
