Alternatively hone your culinary skills at the Rosemary Shrager Cookery School. Explore the plethora of footpaths on the doorstep, visit vineyards at Lamberhurst, stunning gardens such as Penshurst Place, Groombridge Place and Scotney Castle Gardens, which can all be reached within 15 minutes. Fishing and golf are available locally, and there are good rail connections to London for further sightseeing opportunities. Beach 26 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

A great getaway
A lovely, quirky house, with everything you need. It was perfect for a quiet weekend in the countryside. The owners were very helpful when we left a few bits behind.
