Currently there is extensive work on the adjoining Castle Rheinfels, but this was not disruptive to the hotel. Lovely breakfast buffet is served in the restaurant with fabulous views of the Rhine. "This was an unusual hotel. First, it was located in an industrial area, away from convenient access to the town. Second, our stay was over a weekend when absolutely no one was there at the desk for the entire time. Poor people from Switzerland were confused as there was no one to check them out, so they had to just leave. We had no on-site restaurant for the weekend, and saw no one until Monday morning. "This is quite the outdated Hotel. They probably have a total of 15 rooms or so. There is no reception. Everything is self checkin via phone if you will. On the first floor is the common area. There is a TV to share and an office PC and a couch to sit or play games. Part of it looked like its used for storage. The worn out staircase to the upper floors and rooms is tricky. If you have a heavy suitcase be aware. The double doors use a real key, that you get from a lock box. The room looks like...
