"Very comfortable large room in the garden of the pub. Oak beams, beautiful flowers outside the window and a very comfortable bed. The continental breakfast was eaten in the room. Unfortunately although the milk & fruit juice in the fridge were ok I am coeliac so the cereals and croissant were not suitable. When I told the young lady behind the bar she immediately went to a local shop and came back with a box of GF cereals and a GF loaf. Excellent service. Maybe a toaster in the room would be a good addition and a chair."

"I booked the hotel for my birthday but could not have my birthday meal at the Hotel as the latest I could book a table was 5PM only 1 hour after the 4pm check in time. I decided to take a bath. The water pressure in the room was awful and the cold just dribbled out it took about 45 minutes to run a 1/2 bath. We had a drink before going out and I must say it was about the most expensive drink we have ever had in a hotel. We arrived back at the hotel early around 9pm and the bar was already closed so we had to drink our own drinks from the room. We had breakfast in the morning and was served by Wendy. She was absolutely amazing and a credit to the company. The breakfast itself was fantastic and of a very high standard. In the evening we went to the bar at 8:45PM and tried to pay cash but was informed the till had been cashed up as they were about to close at 9PM again. For a hotel in summer was such a surprise the early closing times especially as online google advises Sunday 10pm and Monday 11pm close. We ordered a drink and found there was a vast difference in the advertised price on the drinks menu and what the till said also we were advised the price includes a service charge which unless you ask for a printed bill before paying you would never know, this could be why our drinks were so expensive last night. We were served by Yasmin who we explained all our frustrations to and she gave us our drinks and a bottle of wine complimentary to say sorry which we accepted."

"Room 3 was a Small room and cramped en-suite with tiny basin. However bed was comfortable and water hot . Attention to detail would help with initial response: room needed a good dusting on light fittings and ledges, bed frame had come away on one side and needs repair, Roman blind was partially broken so would not raise or lower properly. A tray for teacups & spoons would avoid marking furniture, wardrobe door was away from its bottom hinge. Very hot weather and there was a winter duvet on the bed! A top sheet was quickly produced on request. Evening meal was tasty. We thought the continental breakfast was very poor: 3 uninspiring cereals, sliced supermarket bread not kept covered so it was drying out and attracted flies , staff not on top of maintaining supplies of fruit or china. For a 4 star hotel we expected at least some fresh bread rolls and better choice of fruit and cold meat/ cheese ( only 1 of each) particularly as hotel had a high occupancy rate. The cappuccino coffee was excellent. All staff were very welcoming and hospitable . Good parking and location. We would consider another stay if we could get a nicer room - the dark grey decor and industrial lighting fittings were not conducive to relaxing and the lighting was poor and it was hard to read. Hospitality times are hard we know but the tiny details make a difference . Great staff who are chatty and enthusiastic . Nice to have an independent quirky hotel. All the best."

"Really nice and regrettably brief stay at this wonderful bed and breakfast ran by a lovely couple. I was made to feel at home from the start and the hosts went out of their way to help make my stay as comfortable as possible (including an offer of a lift to a local pub!). Breakfast was really high quality and ample. I will definitely look to stay again! Thank you!"
