"Very nice property in a quiet neighborhood right across the river from downtown Salem and most attraction. Very walkable when the weather is nice. Beds were comfortable and plenty of space for groups traveling together. Communication with the host was easy, Meg was very responsive. Decent sized outdoor space with a grill and patio furniture. Really enjoyed our Salem experience and would rent again the next time we come here. Only suggestion I have that would be a nice enhancement would be a hot...

"Enjoyed our visit to Salem and the Merchant. This hotel was on my wife's bucket list. I would have looked for a first floor room when I booked if I realized I would have to climb to the third floor with significant disability of my legs. We may return to the Merchant if we can get first floor accommodations. "

"There was a sewage smell on the 2nd floor in the hallway. This was not our floor but we smelled it walking through once."

"My son and I had a wonderful stay here! The room was perfect for doing family history research with the dining table and couch to work on. The location is perfect and within walking distance to all of the main attractions of Salem. Our room was very comfortable with a day bed in the living area for sleeping and a large bed in the bedroom. The kitchenette was great for early morning coffees and small meals. The staff were very friendly and helpful! Would definitely stay here again 😊"
