"Property was clean but dated"

"We had a good clean spacious room in the old house. The bathroom was bright and clean but we could have benefitted from a non slip mat in the shower/bath. The place is a little tired and could do with sprucing up but the grounds and antiquity of the place made up for that. The leisure centre pool area was too hot and there was no way to cool down after a sauna as the showers were a fixed temperature. The bar and restaurant were good for the price with a reasonable choice of standard dishes. Overall good value for money but could be a lot better."

"Parking was stress free (and free). Check in was quick and friendly. The hotel and grounds were really well kept and the outside seating was just like being abroad (yes, the weather helped) especially when we had a light breakfast brought out to us. We will definitely return especially as it was an ideal base for our Edgbaston Stadium visit."

"We stayed in mid July. The hotel has a nice vibe but is looking a little bit tired in places and in need of a bit of a spruce. The rooms were incredibly hot. a fan was supplied but it was pretty ineffective. I hate to think what it would have been like during the height of the heatwave when temperatures were 10 degrees hotter. Hotel is well located for the centre of town with everything within a short walking distance. Didn't eat at the restaurant but did use the bar. Staff friendly."
