"Outstanding quaint little mountain town with just a couple of bars, restaurants and small places to stay. Narrow cobblestone streets and tight parking. Very quiet and peaceful. Nice little restaurant below the hotel both run personally by the owner who is happy to chat, provide helpful service, and tailor meal times to your activities. Nice older stone, brick, beam, mortar and concrete buildings. This accommodation is jus a few rooms redone completely in modern style but retaining the old beams and wood floors / heavy doors. Very quiet, very modern, very comfortable, very pleasant with a genuinely friendly proprietor. Little restaurant has 6 or 7 tables and a small bar with very attentive service. Highly recommend! Larger town with all needs is only ten minutes down the hill on a steep and windy road. Very picturesque!"

"Road trip, one night stay (october 2024), reserved late/same day (hotels.com), arrived late (restaurant/cafe guy assisted with keys to the room), room clean, bed and bathroom aswell. For price and cleanliness I would stay again. :)"

"We recently stayed at Estrellas de Gredos and were really disappointed. The place has stunning mountain views and a traditional curved ceiling, but a lot of things went wrong. The biggest issue was a broken sliding door that wouldn’t lock. When we told the staff, they showed up unannounced at 22:00 and just said it was safe to leave it unlocked, which didn't sit right with us. The inside felt cheap too. The kitchen had flimsy Ikea stuff that looked like it could fall apart any minute. The plates were still wet and dirty, and the pots and tongs had seen better days. The only cava glass there made it clear they weren’t keeping things up to scratch. The garden was just weeds, and the breakfast was just a few basic pastries from the supermarke The interior felt cheap, especially the kitchen, which was equipped with flimsy Ikea furniture and appliances. Plates were damp and stained, and the cooking tools were worn out, including a burnt saucepan and melted tongs. There was only one cava glass available, and the garden was unkempt. The 'included' breakfast consisted only of a few long-life supermarket pastries, insufficient for our stay. Additionally, the Wi-Fi was non-functional, forcing us to rely on our mobile data. Overall, while the setting is beautiful, the lack of attention to detail and basic amenities made it clear that Estrellas de Gredos does not provide good value for the money spent. We left feeling underwhelmed and overcharged."

"Fabulous Parador in the mountains. Upgrade to a Mountain View room if you can. Staff friendly and helpful, excellent restaurant serving the best octopus I’ve ever had. Rooms aren’t huge but are well equipped.Parador easy to find and roads are good. Can’t wait to come back!"

"We had a warm welcome from the owner, and the apartment we stayed in was a good size, with a separate bedroom and living/kitchen area. The apartment is above a garage (separate to the rest of the hostel) and below the owners living area. The kitchen was mostly well equipped, with a microwave, oven, hob, filter coffee machine, dishwasher and washing machine, plenty of crockery and pans. However, there is no kettle (we used a pan to boil water on the hob) and it was woefully short on cutlery, having only two forks and three knives. And we only found these in the morning after our first night when we checked in the dishwasher (which hadn't been on from the previous tenants.) We visited in a cold week in May and found the apartment was warm on the first evening (after we turned the thermostat up from 0 to 20) but the next morning there was no hot water and no heating. After asking the owner about it, she discovered the boiler had packed in. It was working again two days later, but it turns out that there is no heating overnight or in the mornings anyway! Plenty of hot water (when the boiler was working) but I'd recommend bringing an electric heater if you're staying in the colder months."
