"Very comfortable, beautiful hotel, well located, in front of the San Felipe Castle and very close to a shopping mall. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean. The hotel has a rooftop terrace with a pool offering a beautiful view of the Castle; it's stunning at night. The breakfast was a good buffet style, with very polite and attentive staff, and the reception was equally helpful, making us feel at home. Easy access to taxis, Uber, or a 15-minute walk to the Historic Center. We preferred to call an Uber to save time because we only stayed three days. The area is safe, and the shopping mall across the street is very convenient because you can find everything you need in an emergency. I recommend the GHL San Lazaro Art Hotel; it's very good value for money. Just one suggestion for improvement: the shower is large, but the water pressure is weak and it takes a while to heat up. It gets hot after a while, but if the water pressure were stronger, it would be perfect. That's my suggestion!"

"Amazing property, history and arquitecture, however the service was not the best, i was there 5 years ago with my husband and the service was outstanding compare to this time around. Sadly, it has left me with a disappointing feeling as this is an outstanding hotel. Please ask foe late check out and they informed me that we were OK to stay until 1 PM. However, they keep pressuring my dad to leave at noon the room and told him that he was past his check out time, really rudely and he was going to get charged. Also, we were supposed to do the tour of the hotel at 5 PM and the tour guy showed up at 5:30 and he was completely unprepared and didnt really know much of the history of the hotel. Definitely the service is not as it used to be.."

"I stayed here twice on my trip to colombia and absolutely loved it. The staff, the owners, the breakfast, the cleanliness, value, location, amenities, even the decor, everything!!! Highly recommend if your coming to cartagena. Each room is decorated uniquely and such a lovely hotel with lots of plants. Has a little pool and rooftop terrace. Just book it. The owners are soo friendly and accommodating as well as the staff."
