Second time visiting, not only is it reasonably priced for a few days the staff is very sweet and welcoming, parking is right across the street and in its own lot, breakfast lasts a decent amount of time and they offer a good spread, overall it's a super nice stay!
Charming Victorian stay, but the room was little dated and uncomfortable for the price. The pillows and the beds were very uncomfortable. The room carpet was quite dirty. The staff were accommodating. Great access to the dedicated parking lot but limited available space. Walking distance to Japan town.
Loved everything about this hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. The hotel location is good with a near by bus stop to get to the cable car. Hotel provides a filling breakfast along with sherry and cookies for happy hour which the hotel always has coffee and tea at the ready. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Limited paid parking $30 is available across the street. It's SF, what are you going to do...
Stayed for 6 days and everything was great. Wherever you visit, you can always choose to stay at a modern up to date hotel. But if you want a taste of the past, this place is fabulous. It’s beautifully decorated and a piece of art. Very walkable to Japan town and close to chinatown. Would stay here again. It’s reasonable with low cost parking and free breakfast. And my bed was very comfortable. John at the front desk was the best. Friendly and always so helpful. Looking forward to next visit.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
The hotel is a bit tired. The bed was very soft and did not have much support. Breakfast was OK but did not have much service assistance.
However, there was a Filipino male attendant who gave me a ride after a Lyft deserted me. The attendant drove me for about 25 minutes to meet up with my daughter. I have never had any hotel staff member to be so helpful!
The hotel could be quite n beautiful with some renovation.
Cool historic San Francisco experience. Very unique and iconic Victorian architecture and nuances throughout make it a very unique experience. Staff are wonderful. Cool amenities like free breakfast and Sherri with cookies in the evening. Love this place!

It's a nice hotel but for the price I would've stayed elsewhere. I partially blame Expedia for over hyping this stay. It listed the breakfast I was one of the best you'll find in the city yet it was a standard breakfast you'd find at sub 200 a night hotel. Also for being a historic hotel, there was an awful lot of AI art. If your going to charge so much for being such a prestigious building, I shouldn't be eating at a table covered with anime girls with deformed hands.
Nice B&B hotel. Quiet and accessible, convenient location for us; good breakfast.
Older hotel with Victorian period furniture. Nearby parking lot (for a fee) for off street parking.
Absolutely stunning building and rooms, front desk staff very accommodating and parking was very much appreciated. The only room issue was that the bathroom exhaust fan didn’t work and there is no window to assist in ventilation.
The breakfast and dining was decent and fresh. Other than the front desk staff, the other employees we encountered were a bit stale.
We would definitely stay there again when we have more time to explore the neighborhood.
From the moment we walked in the staff was very friendly, he answered all my questions from local spot to check out, to parking ect. The accommodations to the complementary breakfast was all excellent. Definitely would come and stay just from the atmosphere to the hospitality.
I absolutely loved staying at this charming old Victorian hotel! It had so much character and a unique historic feel. The parking was very easy and convenient, and the fee was quite reasonable for the city.
My only downside was that there was no AC in the rooms, so it felt a little stuffy at times. We could open the window, but I didn’t want to leave it open at night while we were sleeping. I completely understand that it’s an older historic building, so AC may not be feasible. Thankfully, the fan provided by the hotel was useful and helped make the room a little more comfortable, just wish the room felt colder. Breakfast was good. Waffle maker, hard boiled eggs, hand, sausage, bagels, English muffins, cereal, muffins, fruit and coffee.
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would happily return!
The parking felt easy and convenient

The cookies a plus
