I've been staying at the Phoenix for 30+ years. Parking is easy, and the bed was super comfortable. The staff is always so pleasant, unpretentious, and rock-and-roll. PLEASE STAY OPEN!!!
One of my favorite places to stay in SF, especially after a concert. Staff is always friendly and helpful, and the beds / pillows are just right for a good night’s sleep.
This hotel was something like I’ve never stayed at. It was so cool the ambience walking from the check-in office to our room was so cool. The gentleman who helped us check-in, gave us some ideas of where to go he mentioned a place down the road called black cat, was an easy walk to multiple places nearby. Was a good experience.
As Good as It gets for the area and price. Nice pool. Convenient parking. There is a lot of homeless in the area but they don't seem to be bad people. just minding their own business. I was never asked for any money walking down the streets.
Property was clean for the most part but you could see its age which could use some updating. We didnt use the pool but it looked nice. The bar/restaurant/record room were closed.
The some of lights in our room didn’t work, we told the staff the first night and they said they would look at it. Lights were never fixed and the staff never followed up.
Two of the towels had black stains on them.
The connected bar and restaurant are closed but that was not communicated.
Bed was nice, rate was reasonable, staff was friendly
So glad this iconic spot is still open. The Phoenix Hotel and all their staff deserve every single good thing in the world happen to them.
The TV in the room didn’t work but honestly I don’t even care cause this place just makes you feel at home.
The hotel was recently sold and under new owners. It was like taking a walk back to the 50's -70's..it was frequented by rock and roll bands. It shows alot of history. The beds are very comfortable and the room was clean and smelled good. Even though it is located on a busy street it was quite.
I had such an amazing stay at the Phoenix Hotel this weekend! As someone who was born and raised in San Francisco, I can’t believe I never knew about this hidden gem. I’ve definitely been missing out!
The atmosphere was incredible — such a fun, unique, and welcoming vibe from the moment I walked in. The front desk staff was so friendly and helpful, especially Declan (I believe that was his name). He was super down to earth, had great energy, and provided amazing customer service that made the experience even better.
The room was great, clean, and comfortable. Overall, I absolutely loved my stay and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!
Everything about our stay was great but the restaurant and bar were closed unfortunately. Luckily we had some champagne we brought but no glasses were able to be provided. If the restaurant or bar was open 10/10
