"We booked a room, showed up before checkin time and they were not operating yet for the season. Mistakes happen, so we weren’t too upset as we found a nearby room at Hotel Portobello . The groundskeeper told us to get a refund thru Expedia. Expedia contacted the hotel, the hotel denied our refund. They said we didn’t cancel within the cancelation time frame?? This place is such a scam. I do not recommend unless you want to risk losing your money. "

"The hostess and her father were considerate, courteous, and cordial. They were generous with their time for recommendations and had time for stories as well as allowed us to leave our bags in the main lobby when we had to wait for a train. Absolutely will come back on our next trip through the lovely town of Benevento."

"This is an excellent hotel from rooms to staff to location. The Michelin star restaurant on-site makes it wonderful. - Lunch: The service at the other restaurant on property with different staff is not always on top of things. (Some of the Michelin staff start their day here, and they are amazing.) - Breakfast buffet is fabulous. Two points to note: - pillows are standard stiff foam and no options are available. Consider bringing your own. - fitness room. Noted in website, but unavailable. If you’re looking for a getaway, Aquapetra should be on your list."

"We had an amazing time in this spacious apartment that had all of the amenities of home. Vincenzo couldn't have been nicer, his wife even gave us vegetables from her garden. Loved every minute of it, will definitely be back again. Love, Angelo and Janine"

"This hotel was not my first choice. It was the only place with accommodation during the period of my visit. Expedia and the hotel web site state check-in is at or after 4:30PM. When we arrived, there was no staff on site. We had to call and wait for people to arrive to check us in. The only time there was "front desk" staff was when someone telephoned for them. This applied for check-out times as well. The restaurant is only open for breakfast and their pickings are pretty slim: fruit, a croissant, coffee, jam. The rooms are secured with standard keys and there's no Master key. In order for your room to be serviced, you have to leave your door open, accessible to anyone in the building until the maid finished and locks up. The air conditioning was poor (outside temps were 80's and 90's in August) and it was their practice to turn the A/C off when the room is serviced. After spending a day out in the blistering sun we returned to rooms which weren't much cooler than the outdoor temps. Parking is extremely limited and the lot is narrow making it difficult to get in and out even with a compact car. The worst part was the black mold around the bathroom windows. This hotel is rated as 3 Stars. It doesn't deserve the 3. Unless there is no place available for the period of your stay, I would avoid this hotel. They really need to get rid of the mold."
