Staff was awesome and went above and beyond to be helpful. Special thanks to Manuel. Property is quiet and very beautiful. My only complaint is that the food options were limited, as for breakfast it was the same 2 options everyday. Also, on Sundays the restaurant doesn’t open for lunch, and area outside of the hotel isn’t very walkable, so this was a major inconvenience for finding food. Other than that… I really enjoyed my stay and looking forward to returning.

The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, the food from the restaurant was very good, the room was quite clean and the furniture in excellent condition (including a comfortable bed) and the vegetation around the hotel grounds is beautiful!

Great place to stay. Our flight got in late and they stayed up to check us in. Next day we drove to Jaco to stay in our condo and because of the excellent amenities and service we stayed here again to catch an early flight home.

We really enjoyed this place very much, we were able to just relax. This is a family owned property and the owners are who we interacted with the most. They made us feel very comfortable, gave us a tour around the garden and helped us with everything we needed. For dinner we ate at the restaurant that was onsite and we loved the food. We would highly recommend staying here.

Hotel Robledal is wonderful and we are so grateful to have began and ended our trip here! The staff are kind, friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna. The gardens are gorgeous and great for bird watching & viewing pollinators! The breakfast and dinner was delicious, some of the best gallo pinto we had our whole trip! Overall, Hotel Robledal is a lovely place and I highly recommend it! We can’t wait to come back again one day in the future!

It is advertised as a good place for birding close to SJO, and it really was. It was our last day/night in Costa Rica after visiting several places for birding, but we saw quite a few new species while there. Room was nice; neighborhood had nothing to recommend it (just dull), shuttle service to airport was as advertised.Food was good.

What a sweet hotel! We stayed here one night before flying out early the next day but I wish we would have had more time to relax there. Nice new room that was clean and quiet and beautiful grounds - there was an owl nest right outside our room! The man who checked us in and showed us our room mentioned that he and his family have been running the hotel for many years - these are the kinds of places I like to stay at when I travel (I like to avoid bigger chains and get my money in the hands of the locals). Loved it and would definitely stay there again!

I feel so fortunate to have found and booked with Hotel Robledal. Their staff was responsive, reliable, very easy to coordinate with. When I arrived in Costa Rica, they were there at the airport waiting for me. When I had to leave they helped me coordinate drop off. Then, when I returned to the hotel for my second stay, they remembered me and truly made me feel at home. As a solo traveler, they also helped make sure I felt comfortable and safe. Breakfast was also included in the stay and was delicious. Thank you Hotel Robledal for a lovely stay! I will be returning to you in the future.

Unique property with opportunities for urban garden birdwatching. Good lunch deal and evening meal also good. Buffet breakfast less so. Would have been nice to have had more info about the garden birds eg where to see the owl. Lots of mosquitos in the garden. No free shuttle to airport after 12 pm so an extra charge for this if you have an afternoon flight. Room was motel basic but adequate.

Overall a good stay and helpful staff. Main issue was that the Expedia information for the shuttle was not correct, as it stated “ Free roundtrip airport shuttle from 5:00 AM to 10:30 PM at scheduled times and on request”, but when a shuttle never came at any scheduled time, we had to call a taxi. Upon arrival we were informed it was only upon request and not at scheduled times. Otherwise the facility was pretty and clean. The location was a little far removed from stores and other restaurants.

Such a relaxing, peaceful hotel

This place is fantastic! We stayed here at the end of a two-week trip, and I am so glad we chose this hotel— such a relaxing place to wind down before heading home. Beautiful room, nice gardens/grounds, and excellent food- the included breakfast was a luxurious spread, and we ate at the restaurant for dinner which was also great. After growing weary with some hotel food over the course of our trip, the food here was a great surprise! The reception staff was also super friendly, and the hotel maintains a nest box for Ferruginous Pygmy Owls, which we got to see a few times- awesome!
