I had a problem with a train ticket that I bought and they helped me to figure out how best to fix the problem and then helped me to coordinate a trip to the train station so that I could fix it. The staff was accommodating with coordinating our schedule for the breakfasts and for the baths. If you want what is likely a traditional ryokan experience, this feels like the right place to get it. It’s in a great location, too."

"Great host and communication. The house is cozy and it had everything we needed. The air conditioning was great in the Japanese heatwave. In just under 10 minutes, you can walk to some of the nicest streets in Kyoto with temples and cafes. However, everything around there closes quite early and becomes really quiet - so be aware if it’s not your vibe. Not a big deal for me, though. "Amazing location, room 1 had view of Yasaka Pagoda right outside the window. Units were very comfortable and had everything we needed, small kitchen, laundry and wonderful bathroom with soaking tubs. Staff was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. We stayed with kids and another family. One thing to note, because of tourist crowding on the street it’s not possible for taxi/uber to get right to the hotel, you need to walk a bit to get there. Fine for us but just something to know."

"I highly recommend staying here. The location was perfect as a tourist staying close to the main sights in the Gion area of Kyoto. I was able to see Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka with very few people around without getting up too early. The hotel itself was beautiful and comfortable, despite the smaller size.
