It’s a convenient place to stay , very close to main attractions.
We had a lovely tone. The owner was very responsive and messaged very fast. Worth a stay when visiting the volcano

Cabin in the Hills
Cabins are in a great location about 50 meters from the Santa Ana Volcano trailhead. Only issues is there was no restaurant or WiFi, There’s a bunch of people that cook food across the street but they close up around 5pm.
Review is negative. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I arrived there around 9PM. First surprise was that they told me they accept only cash. And I do not travel with tons of cash. So we agreed that I can withdraw cash from ATM in the morning. And then in the morning I learned that nearest ATM is located in Izalco. Just 45 minutes drive. And those ATMs take only visa cards. I had to spend 2+ hours to find ATM that would accept MasterCard in the town of Sonzacate. It is first time in 15 years of so that a hotel I booked at hotels.com accepted cash only. Second surprise came at 2:30AM when a bus arrived with a very loud engine and a very loud crowd of fellow tourists. It took them about one hour to check in and settle. So my plans for next day were disrupted. But air quality was a positive experience.

The best part was the proximity to the volcano. We got up early and hiked it. That was the value. Otherwise not a great stay. Very dirty everywhere. There were only two towels in our four person room and they had holes. Not sure how clean our bedding was. There was also a weird smell we couldn't get to fade. We made it work but we won't again
Absolutely terrible place. The sheets on the bed were dirty and wet , they didn’t have enough blankets, they did a bait and switch where they wouldn’t let me check in unless I paid a higher amount in cash And the person told me that they have other guests that they will give the room if I don’t pay higher amount ($50 vs $42 that was on the booking). The room was dirty, the shower was not working , they ran out of drinking water. The blankets they gave had dirt and hair stuck on them. They also didn’t even give a receipt. Absolutely terrible experience.
The location is PERFECT! It's very desolate and quiet which we knew and planned for. We stayed in the family room with 4 beds and it was plenty big enough. We had 2 hammocks outside and a fire pit (they started for us at night).
The food vendors across the street leave around 4:30 but the restaurant in the hotel serves food until 8:30pm so that was nice.
It was me and my 2 teenage boys (15,16) and they loved the suspension bridge, the lookout area and the general hiking around.
The cabin was a little sad. I'm not sure if the sheets were clean (yuck) and the floors were definitely pretty dirty. I couldn't get the hot water to work so no shower for us. We stayed in July and it gets cold at night even though its really hot during the day (not unbearably hot).
The workers there are very nice and accommodating. I speak spanish so it was easy for us. I don't think the workers speak english.
No wifi or cell phone reception which I enjoyed. The boys got a little cell service up the hill.
We would probably stay there again for one night...can't do more than that with the cabin being in the shape that it is.
