"I had the most incredible experience at The Albatroz. The location alone is spectacular — perched right on the ocean with views that honestly feel unreal. The pool overlooking the water is just gorgeous; it became one of my favourite places to unwind and soak in the scenery. What really set this place apart, though, was the staff. Every single person I interacted with was warm, friendly, and genuinely accommodating in a way that felt completely authentic. It never felt forced — just true hospitality. The food was another highlight. Every meal was delicious, beautifully prepared, and full of fresh flavours. It was a treat every time we sat down to eat. I truly can’t recommend The Albatroz highly enough. If you’re considering it, go — you’ll be so glad you did. Jadah "

"Very good communication, given the door codes before arriving. Accommodation was excellent, bed was very comfy and shower fab. We used public transport so you need to work out the buses that pass the door unless you don't mind walking. It's about a 25 minute walk to the airport from the property. Lovely garden area and has a banana plantation right in front of accommodation. Airport is very close so many flights taking off and landing. If using buses you can use the 113 bus to and from machico but must have a b for bemposta to go past the door. Kitchen facilities are excellent in the property. About 20 /25 minute walk to Santa Cruz. Nice views over the sea. Would certainly recommend and use in the future. Cheers 😁😁"

"Our experience at Vila Galé Santa Cruz was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. The hotel perfectly combines comfort, elegance, and genuine Portuguese hospitality. Our room was spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully designed, with a balcony overlooking the Atlantic — waking up to the sound of the waves was pure bliss. The facilities are excellent: a fantastic outdoor pool, a relaxing spa, and plenty of space to unwind. The food deserves a special mention. Every meal — from the bountiful breakfast buffet to the evening dinners — was delicious and beautifully presented, with a wonderful selection of local and international dishes. The service team was always professional and genuinely kind. Vila Galé Santa Cruz manages to be both luxurious and laid-back — ideal for families, couples, or anyone looking to truly relax. "Quiet,relaxing, and delicious breakfast. Rental car best way to explore Maderia. Note: existing hotel lot is a one way left turn only. Hotel needs to clear shrubs to see on-coming cars easer. "

"The breakfast was great, the staff friendly and helpful and the hotel and grounds well maintained, charming and comfortable. Only minor issues were with the late check-in procedure and the beds, which were on the small side compared to most hotels these days. Overall a great stay and we would definitely stay again. "
