Heaven

This was our family's 4th stay at Bahia Pez Vela. We just can't get enough! It is truly a little piece of heaven. The location of this unit is wonderful. The access to the ocean, in conjunction with the private pool, is really perfect. The kitchen is well stocked, and we really enjoyed cooking there. Our 4 teenage girls had the time of their lives. I wanted to squeeze in some excursions, but my family was so content they never wanted to leave the property. We can't wait to come back again and again.

Fantastic Location, Perfect Place for a Family

This place was fantastic for a family with school age kids! It was well-equipped with all supplies, comfortable with furniture and very effective air conditioning, and had a pool that exceeded expectations. The location, with the ability to walk right out the backyard to the beach, was unbeatable. The resort location is not too far from the airport but feels remote; the restaurant is delicious with wonderful service. We had such a great time that we will certainly return!

Great Stay

Beautiful property. Well equipped. Communication with LaRaye the owner was fantastic. The instruction sheet was incredibly comprehensive and helpful - everything needed for the property but also lots of great recommendations for restaurants, activities, getting through the airport, where to buy groceries and alcohol, etc.

Almost perfect

Property was super clean and was filled with everything needed for a great stay. Best stocked kitchen we have experienced so far. Only complaint I can make is the development doesn't respect the privacy of the unit. First they allowed the local beach users to set up for the day on the grass area between the pool and beach. Secondly the maintenace department decided to use that area for two days to replace beach chair cover replacements even after I requested they move to a different location. Apparently they preferred the shade and beach view that I believe was meant for the unit.

Amazing as always!

This is our second stay in LaRaye's beautiful home, and each time is such a blessing. The property is beautiful, and everyone that works in the resort is so friendly. LaRaye is a joy to communicate with, she is efficient and kind. We love having the pool at the house and watching the numerous birds come drink from it. Nice and close to the beach and restaurant. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the beautiful country of Costa Rica!

Peace and beauty by the Sea

We had an amazing time at a fantastic property! The property was clean and very well appointed. You couldn’t ask for a more picturesque setting, with a private pool and ocean just a few steps away. Best family vacation ever!

The property was unique and wonderful. Our host, LaRaye, made the process easy and had great suggestions on activities, restaurants, etc. Cesar and Jacky in the office exceeded expectations, and the other property staff was friendly and helpful. When you combine all of this with the location and warm people of Costa Rica, this was a vacation our family will never forget and we will be back. Pura Vida!

First class accommodations

This property is first class. It’s even better than the listing indicates. It’s situated within the resort so that it only has one neighbor to the right and wilderness to the left. Only spot in the whole complex with a private pool. Walk to the beach barely qualifies as a walk, it’s more like a step-out. Clean, comfortable, and has everything in it to make it your home for a while. It’s not for budget travelers, that’s for sure. The restaurant there is pretty pricey but delicious. We cooked a lot. But if you want the best spot, it’s worth the money. We saw monkeys, iguanas, and wild birds. 10 out of 10 would recommend

Absolutely beautiful location, great fit for our family group. Loved the Villa amenities, cleanliness, space and vibe. Beach was beautiful. Saw the howler monkeys every day. Host sent wonderful detailed 20page info document about the area and was very responsive to emails. Cannot even remotely think of anything that could have improved our stay.

Great place in playa Ocotal

Wonderful townhouse with gorgeous setting. Ocean views, private pool, fairly close to town. Stock up on groceries cuz the kitchen is great and the on-site restaurant is pretty spendy. Be sure to get massage and go on tours recommended by reception area. We had a car and liked going to Coco Beach. The catamaran tour was great. Rainforest tour was a show stopper. Will be back.

Excellent Beach Location

We have been traveling to Costa Rica many times but this was our first stay at this villa. It's a little out of the way from Playa de Coco which is why we chose it. It was part of a property that had 40 villas up the hillside with this one being right on the beach. The villa was wonderful and just as pictured and described. The host was very responsive and helped us get the grill going the first day. The kitchen is very nicely stocked and we cooked out every night, they even had a spice rack which was a present surprise and helpful. The on-property restaurant is high quality and we ate there the first night. Having a private pool was perfect with lots of local wildlife to watch and enjoy. We were only steps from the beach and took advantage of swimming in the ocean and using some of the provided toys. All in all, a perfect week's stay.

Paradise!

We loved everything about this place. Not only was it situated in the middle of paradise (literally), but it was also on the perfect lot at the end of the street, the pool was luxurious, and the inside was clean, well-equipped, and very very comfortable. We wanted for nothing because it was well stocked. The only thing we missed was a pizza cutter! But the knives worked great. Awesome place - we really do hope to be back again someday very soon. It was paradise!

Paradise

The house is everything promised to be. As part of a resort there is easy access to amenities such as a top notch restaurant and bar. The staff arranged for us to go kayaking along the coast which added to the glory of the beach, sun, ocean and pools. The location is both remote yet close enough to stores and restaurants. Highly recommended! Our host was very attentive to our needs. Finally villa 4 has its own small pool which is a bonus and it’s is right on the beach and n ar bar/restaurant. View and ocean sounds spectacular.

An amazing experience!

Villa 4 at Bahia Pez Vela was such a gem! The house and amenities were perfect and just as described. The private pool is bigger than I imagined and so perfect after having been at the beach all day. The jets were a game changer! The kitchen is huge with everything you could need and the washer/dryer came in handy as well. Once booked, LaRaye sent very detailed notes regarding the property and extremely useful tips and recommendations. Caesar at the property was very accommodating and helpful with booking transfers and activities. Second time coming to Costa Rica and I will definitely be back to this villa! LOVED it!

Excellent week in Villa 4

All of the reviews are spot on. Perfect for our family of 4, but can surely accommodate more. We were the envy of our neighbors with the private, infinity pool. Being able to snorkel at the beach 50 ft from the home then come back and relax in the pool was the perfect combination. Inside and out, Villa 4 was everything we needed. LaRaye was so quick to respond to every question and the check in/check out process was seamless. The property is great because it has the restaurant within a 30 second walk and is so close to ocotel and coco beach. You can even take the short cut to ocotel during low ride across the rocks. We found the best snorkeling at this beach. It was like being in an aquarium. Great location, great property, and an ideal setting. We will be back.

Stunning setting in an amazing villa

LaRaye was very nice and responsive to our questions and suggestions. Her villa was beautiful and the setting being right on the beach was perfect along with our own private pool. Loved it! Cesar was so helpful with making accommodations for transportation shuttles, car rental, excursions recommendations. He was a pleasure to work with. LaRaye recommended Betty for massages which Cesar arranged once again. Betty gave us the best massage in our villa. The resort staff was very attentive and so friendly too! Father Rooster is a must too for dinner. We did the Heliconias, Guacheplin Full Adventure and Sailing/Snorkeling excursions were a must! The tour guides were amazing especially Daniel. The beach location is very Costa Rica

We loved the beach and pool. The villa is very spacious and fully equipped kitchen. The views are beautiful and the water was so warm. The patio couches and inside couches are worn but we did not mind. Kitchen is updated. Floats and snorkel masks would have been a great addition. Cesar and Jacky are the best at helping with your visit. The restaurant food was very good but for every visit allow an hour plus to receive food. Drinks were good and staff was very friendly. Unfortunately, we chose to skip eating there at the end due to the long wait after ordering. The grounds are pristine and very clean. We would highly recommend our villa and this location. Be prepared for bumpy roads and you will need to arrange drivers for transportationWe did not get a car and loved having transportation set up by Cesar or Jacky. The beach is public but not very crowded due to location .Our personal pool was worth it, truly pure vida!

Beautiful Villa - Wonderful Vacation

My family of four (w/ 7yr old and 9yr old) thoroughly enjoyed our 12 day trip. The villa was as described. In fact, the photos don't do it justice. The beach is right there which provides an unobstructed view and easy access. The villa was clean and comfortable. It has everything we needed including modern appliances like the dishwasher and washer/dryer. Bedrooms are a nice size, plenty of closet space, and comfy beds. Two of the three bedrooms provide breathtaking views of the pool and beach. The master has a deck and bathroom. The pool was great. Nice temperature and regularly cleaned during our stay. Pool depth ranged from 3-5ft. Pool lounge chairs and a few pool toys were provided. You may want to bring/purchase more toys for the kids to keep them entertained. So many animals around the villa to admire - including mapaches, howler monkeys, lizards, iguanas, all types of birds. We had regular visitors during our stay. Our kids even named them! 15 mins from Coco. Definitely recommend renting a car to get around. You can't walk. But beware of some challenging terrain, especially approching the terrain. The mosquitoes and ants were pests but that was expected. Everyone we met at the resort were wonderful. Cesar and Jacky were great to deal with. They were very responsive but not overbearing. They helped with our rental car, answered any questions we had during the stay, and booked our excursions. Great trip!
