Still love this place

We stayed at this Villa Aug 2019 . We love so much that we come back again. Everything is perfect great location beautiful sunset every night. The villa is clean and safe for our elderly family members. We love hangout at the pool and kitchen. I promise we will be back again, soon or later. Perfect!

This property was absolutely perfect and made our vacation "the best of all time" (as quoted by our kids). Gus and Emanuelle were absolutely incredible, so friendly and helpful and just made our stay fun, adventurous and worry-free. This is a must stay!

Great Place for Whole Family

The property had enough room to comfortably accommodate our family gathering of 10: 6 adults and 4 children (ages 8-11). The kids had a blast in the infinity pool and at the pool table. The view of the ocean was spectacular and we sometimes saw coatis on the patio. The trip to the Hermosa beach was doable by foot, but taking a car for the return climb was preferable. The general location was very good with playas Hermosa, Ocotal, and Coco an easy drive. The villa was convenient to restaurants and grocery stores and well equipped with dishes, cooking equipment and supplies for easily making meals.

January respite

We live in Minnesota so it was great to get away in mid-January to 85 degree weather. The home was huge, lots of room for our group of 8 to spread out, and the pool was awesome. We were in it multiple times every day. The view is gorgeous from various areas in the house and outside decks and porches. Everyone we worked with at Zindis was super helpful and friendly. We ordered groceries to be stocked when we got there which was a huge help (although they seemed much more expensive than when we shopped at the local supermarket). The kitchen was well-equipped (knives could use some sharpening) and we used the grill for the first few nights until some wreckless raccoons crawled in and broke the burners! One inconvenience was we didn't get a garage door opener so we had to work around that manually, but not a huge deal. All-in-all it was a great vacation! I would recommend this property to anyone considering it!

Great place for a large family

Overall it was great. Really good space for our extended (3 generation) family. Beautiful pool, secure grounds and excellent property management. House is well used, remains very functional and could benefit from some TLC (needs new dishwasher, was no stovetop fan, doors/locks require some minor maintenance). We had an amazing time and very much enjoyed ourselves.

A perfect home for 2 families (total 10 people). Spacious and comfortable inside, and the kids spent most of the time in the pool. Clean and well equipped. Would definitely recommend and hope to be back someday.

Amazing

The house is amazing. Clean, bright and has everything you could possibly need. Our house manager Bryan went above and beyond to help us out and make the trip relaxing and easy. I would recommend a car if you’re staying here. Playa Hermosa is a great little village but there isn’t much there other than a few (great) restaurants and a great beach. Taxis were hard to get and very expensive.

Great location and view

The view was magnificent. We were able to see birds of all types fly right across the patio. Of course , here's the monkeys in the morning and the evenings and even saw a whale in the ocean from ouur view. You could walk into town very easily. But the walk up the hill in the heat of the day could be a challenge for some. The home had plenty of supplies and was very accommodating. The beds were comfortable (firm) but the living room furniture was not so comfortable. This matters less when you spend most of your time on the patio. The pool was marvelous and was cleaned several times during our stay.

Beautiful View

The views were magnificent. The house was clean and tidy. There were lots of towels and linens; even for a family of 10. Having access to a pool is a must in Costa Rica’s hot climate and this one was amazing. The only thing we all found negative is the echo inside the house. There are not enough pictures on the walls and no curtains on the windows. But overall this is a great property.

Beautiful house with incredible sunsets

We had such a great time at this house on our weeklong trip. Beautiful infinity pool, open concept house, fantastic location on the hillside about a half-mile from the beach. Steep walk down the private community driveway, we didn't try to walk back up! Three restaurant/bars on the beach in Playa Hermosa, all good. We had a van and traveled all over to many beaches, waterfalls, hot springs, four wheelers, zip lines and more. Gus the property manager and Bryan from Zindis tours were both awesome. Only thing to improve upon is for the house to have a few more new beach chairs to take with you. Great vacation, you won't be disappointed!

Perfect Family Week

We had two families and absolutely loved this home. We had plenty of space. The pool was right off the kitchen and perfect for dinners and socializing wile the kids swam. The view is perfection! We really enjoyed being up on the hill overlooking the water. The restaurant right down on the beach was wonderful. It can be quite the walk up/down to the beach but manageable. We were able to get a ride most nights to town. We loved preordering groceries and then picked up additional from the market down the road as needed. I would highly recommend!

Great location, needs an update

We were overall satisfied with our time at Villa Quetzal. The staff at Zindis were professional and courteous. They went over the details of the home clearly with us. The home was comfortable, but we had a few things that we noticed that were slightly frustrating. First, the wifi connection was incredibly slow, so doing research on activities became a challenge. Second, the sheets and pillows did not seem overly clean. The washer and dryer could probably use an update. There was a broken chair in the living room that we avoided, and none of our gate fobs worked the entire time we were staying at the home. On the plus side, we felt very safe at the location, and the views were unmatched. The fridge had ample room, and it was nice that there were amenities in the kitchen that we were able to use.

Great views and lots of wildlife

We loved the location, the pool and the birds. Each evening so many birds would stop by the pool, as the sun sets to get a drink. The parrots, 2 by 2 would fly right over our house, talking to each other to stay the night in the valley behind us. BTW, you can see sunrises from the back of the house, and sunsets from the front over the pool. The house was big, not super clean, and as everyone has said, the furniture inside and out is uncomfortable. The beds were ok, worn out bedding though. We spent most days at the beach or touring around. Dont walk to the beach, takes less than five minutes to drive to the closest one. No ice maker, no trays, till now we supplied them. Zindis is excellent, talk to them about activities. Fishing for $100 a person was the best time, caught 5 fish in 4 hours. Recommend.

Absolutely amazing!

We had a wonderful stay! The views from the pool & deck area are incredible for watching the sunset over Playa Hermosa. We had a family gathering, and the kids loved the pool table & the swimming pool. The pool is well maintained and deep at the end. There are two rooms upstairs and two rooms downstairs, so it’s easy to have multiple families or groups. It’s a spacious house with a fully stocked kitchen. We saw monkeys playing in the trees & a variety of beautiful birds. Playa Hermosa is a quiet area, but a short drive away there are grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping. We visited multiple beaches and kept coming back to Playa Hermosa. We found the house to be everything we wanted and more. We didn’t have any issues with insects in the house, but we also kept doors and windows shut. We would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for some space and privacy.

Fantastic stay at Casa Quetzal

Starting from meeting Marcia ( the property manager) and climbing that hill to get to Casa Quetzal were great experience . the View were absolutely fantastic. Some of us are early bird person, got up at dawn watching the birds flying and stop by drinking pool water was priceless. The house were spacious for 7 of us, we didn’t have to use the pool table area at all. We were just happy hang out around kitchen and pool outside .Everything were wonderful. Some of us are planning to go back to This place with their extend family already. Thank you Marcia, the Zindis Group and the property owner for sharing your the beautiful vacation with us, and we are truly sorry for taking your garage remote control . I hope you get it back to CR. A good choice

The villa is lovely .... it’s spacious, well-layed out, and the separate “games room” upstairs is a treat. The pool area and the view can’t be beat. A car is a necessity to get to restaurants and the beach even if you’re in good physical condition as the villa sits quite high up a steep road ( which is great for privacy and the view). The development has a gated entrance and security guards are stationed up the hill as well as at the entrance. They were always in clear sight but never became intrusive. A few notes for the owners: we appreciated the large closet full of sheets and bath towels but could have used more than one tea towel for the kitchen. The property management company was quick to respond when we let them know there was no soap for the dishwasher but they indicated there was only one roll of paper towels for the week so we had to buy more. We also needed to purchase more toilet paper. And lastly, it was inconvenient that the front door required a key to lock it from the inside as well as the outside. These are small things but they would have made our stay that much better.
