Nestled between the Hudson and the Catskills, Hommel House offers a rare balance: rustic tranquility with easy access to vibrant local charm. Just 10 minutes from Saugerties Village and 15 minutes from the artsy haven of Woodstock, you’re close enough to convenience, yet tucked into peaceful wooded surroundings.

Car access only: accessible exclusively by vehicle. During winter or snowy conditions, we strongly recommend using a 4WD or AWD vehicle to ensure safe and reliable travel on rural, wooded roads.

To ensure a smooth and secure stay, we kindly ask guests to review the following important details:

A signed rental agreement is required prior to arrival in order to comply with our insurance provider’s guidelines.


Local guests (within 30 miles) must contact us before booking.

3rd party bookings are not permitted; the reservation holder must be present throughout the stay.


EV charging is not allowed on the property due to fire safety concerns.


After booking is confirmed, you’ll receive a digital guidebook with everything you need for your stay—including Wi-Fi credentials, property access instructions, local recommendations, and more.

- Maximum 6 guests. The guest count on the reservation must be accurate.
- No parties, events or gatherings. Keep noise reasonable, especially at night.
- Up to two dogs, each under 60 lb, are allowed on request with a pet fee. Add the dogs to the reservation at booking. Do not leave pet food outside.
- No smoking inside or outside the home.
- Outdoor fires in the fire pit only. Never leave a fire unattended.
- Wildlife lives here. Secure all food and trash indoors or in closed and secured bins. Never feed or approach animals.
- Park only in the designated areas.
- Local guests within 30 miles, please contact us before booking. No third party bookings. The reservation holder must stay at the home throughout the stay.
- A $1,000 refundable hold is placed on your card 24 hours before check-in and released 2 days after checkout.
- Please contact us before booking if you live locally. The person who books must be staying at the home; no third-party bookings.
- Park only in the designated parking area.
- Outdoor fires in the fire pit only, never left unattended.
- No weapons on the property.
- No electric vehicle charging, due to fire risk.
- No tents, RVs or camping on the property.
- Dogs: up to two dogs, each under 60 lb, added to the reservation. Dogs are not allowed on beds.
