Residential quiet and safe area. Ideal for resting. You need a car to go shopping or to a restaurant.

Eichwalde is a quiet, residential town. I was planning a couple of long days at DESY-Zeuthen, one S-Bahn stop south of Eichwalde (or a nice 45 minute walk). I typically stay in Berlin proper, but wanted to give this a try. Anyway, I had a small, but very nice, single room. Checked in late via the intercom and key lock-box. I had a German speaker with me, but it seems likely it would have worked in any case. Breakfast was quiet, food and coffee were excellent.

Even though we were a bit far from Berlin, we have nothing but compliments about our stay. The area was so walkable and felt very safe. The room itself was incredibly clean and everything worked perfectly. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The front desk, especially, made us feel exceptionally welcome. We were able to partake in the breakfast on our last day, and we wish we had been able to the other days. The property is a 100 year old residence, which has beautiful high decorated ceilings, a large wooden staircase, decorated pillars and cornices. It is really quiet and the staff was super helpful. The breakfast was outstanding, it had everything!

The staff was so nice to us. Hotel is beautiful. Lovely place.
