Everything about this hotel is amazing. Great location, beautiful rooms, and great owners.

Very friendly staff. The Red Admiral is a little outside the urban areas, so very quiet once the pub winds down. My wife was convinced that there was another (peaceful and tranquil) presence in the room, perhaps The Admiral.

Wonderful place all around!

What a pleasant stay. The property is a short walk from the train station; go out, turn left and keep left until you see the building. The housekeeper is very kind and accommodating. The city’s ocean front is comfortable with benches and picnic tables, plus walkable beach reaches. If you enjoy watching happy dogs, this place will make your smile extreme (yes, I love dogs). The bedroom itself was a bit tight, but we had small roller bags so we were able to situate everything - would have been...

Melrose Guest house is a beautiful place to stay in the Ambelside, Lakes National Park, and Windemere area. It is conveniently located in town by restaurants, ships, and trails. The room was spotless and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing every day of our stay. This is the place to stay in Ambelside!
