"Family room cost us 121 for a night with breakfast included for 3 people in the 6 weeks hols, so decent value for nowadays. Plenty of parking, maybe a tad understaffed, but lots of places struggle with that I reckon. We had burgers for evening meal which were nice with generous portions. A little bit dog eared here and there but not to a fault. We had a pleasant peaceful night's rest and the breakfast was decent with full English and cereal/croissant options available. "Staff were lovely and very welcoming. Food and drink were both great and reasonably priced for the quality. The room gorgeous but I do recommend a pair of ear buds/plugs as it is on the main street and rooms to the front do have traffic going by from early in the morning."

"The bed and breakfast accommodation was very nice, clean tidy and well presented. Had a meal in the main pub which was also very nice. Breakfast (cooked English) was served which again was freshly prepared and a choice of cereals was also available."

"We stayed for two nights with our dogs. We absolutely loved our stay. Rooms super comfortable and staff so attentive. Breakfast was incredible. We ate lunch and two evening meals as the bar and restaurant was so good it wasn’t worth trying anywhere else. Would definitely recommend and return. "

"Stayed one night only. The room was comfortable. Even though the heating was not on due to it supposedly being summer, as the room was a little cold we were able to turn on an electric wall heater to take the chill off the room & a blow heater in the bathroom. The quality and pricing of food and drink in the bar were excellent. The cooked breakfast was included, which was also delicious. Would definitely stay again."

"Amazing location. Clean and comfy room. Fridge on landing where we could keep fresh dog food and milk, they can be noisy in the room so great idea. Needs to update to a decent coffee machine if the sign outside says ‘coffee house’. Only filter served and not very nice. Some really lovely, friendly staff. Would definitely come back. 9/10"

"Really great base for exploring the Lake District.lovely quiet area with a really pleasant atmosphere. We had a 2 bed lodge which was clean and well kitted out with everything you need. If I’m being picky maybe could do with a refresh but no complaints from me. Great communication by SMS and a really pleasant break.👍😃"
