I had the best stay at Hostel Tommy - it is literally seconds away from Ikseon-dong Hanok Village (one of the coolest places as a visitor) and a 3-min walk from Jongno 3(sam)-ga Station, making it super convenient and accessible. There is a 7-eleven right next to the hostel which is such a plus. The vibe was so homey and cozy, I felt incredibly safe and taken care of as a female solo traveller. The room was so comfortable too, I almost did not want to leave my room, haha! A huge shoutout to the helpful staff, who ensured that I did not have to lug my luggage alone (they quickly assisted me) up and down the stairs. They also made sure that I was well-equipped with an umbrella when raining and even offered to gift me an umbrella the day of my departure. Everything was clean, amenities sufficient, there is even a communal vanity area where you can spritz perfume and doll up with hair tools. I am looking forward to my next stay here again. Overall experience was very good. Staff are very friendly and accommodating especially the owner Mr. Tommy and Mr. Chad. Perfect location geographically and walking distance to top destinations. I would recommend this place for everyone who wants to visit and experience South Korea.

This hostel was very ideally located for visiting many places, including Jongmyo shrine and Insa-dong. It is also fairly close to the Jongno 3-ga subway station, so transportation is easy. The rooms were very clean, and I enjoyed having a private bathroom.

Hostel Tommy was perfect for our stay in Seoul. Ideally located in a cool neighbourhood close to subway station. Easy to walk around and there is everything you need nearby. We loved that we could cook our own meal and the free breakfast was lovely. Tommy is so nice and helpful and all the staff is very friendly. The hostel is super clean and is an excellent value overall. Would definitely come back!

The hotel location is really great, walkable from the stations and famous attractions such as palaces. There are also convenient stores nearby, and one is right next to the hotel. Tommy and staff are really kind and helpful. The room was also warm and comfortable.

This was my last stay in Korea for the 2nd half of my trip and I can say it was my favourite place to stay: very comfortable, super clean and the location was convenient! Highlight was the staff as everyone was cute and very bubbly! Tommy was super cool! A HUGE plus that isn’t mentioned enough is that they provide tax refunds for your stay! One of only 50 hotels! Travellers who are staying awhile it is worth your time to apply for the tax refund which is quick to apply and was approved quickly as well! Tommy and his staff were helpful to let me know and the KRW cash is dispensed immediately. I stayed in a mini room there was a mini tv, washroom, and AC which ran very cold which was awesome for the hot weather! There’s a laundromat on the rooftop terrace as well and a cute little patio area. They have breakfast available everyday of the stay which I should’ve taken advantage of but that’s an awesome plus as well. The main lobby has a kitchen area and a communal fridge as well! Another review had mentioned their room was humid but I didn’t find that to be the case. I let the cool air run for 15 minutes, the washroom would dry out quickly! Maybe that is case by case. Although the room was small there was ample space to pack my carry on and luggage. If you’re a solo traveller you’d lowkey be able fit 2 luggages and a carry on if you’re smart about the space. It’s also right next to a 711 which is awesome in a pinch if you’re hungry or thirsty. 1000/10 would recommend

Tommy and Nicholas were so friendly and made us feel so welcome! They went out of their way to be helpful and gave us loads of good tips for our trip. In fact we tried to book again on our way back but it was booked out. Highly recommended, really great location to walk around, eat and enjoy Seoul! Thank you!

Good Central Location

Nice hostel close to several of the palaces and popular locations. Near metro, so easy to get to other places. I had a small single room which was adequate, except it was difficult to use the shower. Room amenities were fine, bed was comfortable, pillow was great, room was heated and window could be opened for (very) fresh air (6C). Good, adequately kitted out common area. Free breakfast limited to cocpops, cornflakes, bread, condiments, juice, tea (no black tea) and coffee. Staff were very friendly and helpful. My only suggestion is that when someone turns up early that they give some priority to getting their room ready first, especially when it is a cold and wet day outside. I knew and understood that their checkin time was 4pm, however a little bit of consideration for those arriving early would have made this place perfect (I actually didn’t get my room until shortly after 4pm).

All the staff were very nice & very helpful even though , except the CEO, others were not fluent in English. Our flight arrived late and we reached Hostel Tommy at 1 am. Had no toruble with self check-in. It is quiet a place, just a 5-6 minutes walk from Jongno 3-ga subway station and 15 - 20 minutes walking distance to palaces. There is a 7-11 on ground floor of this building several eating places near the subway station. Breakfast is simple cereals & toast . But you can use the microwave and dining / common area throught the day. The only discordant note was about room cleaning. It was mentioned that it would be done every third day. We stayed for four days. Our room was not cleaned. Since we could get fresh towels from reception ( and leave the old ones there) it was not a big deal for us. But would have been nice. We do look forward to staying here on our future visit.
