"I stayed at the Royal Golf Hotel in Dornoch with my dog. The golf course and surrounding area are absolutely stunning — clearly a lot of care goes into keeping them in top condition. The hotel itself has charm and a lovely old-world feel, but unfortunately the guest experience didn’t match the setting. Service in the restaurant was underwhelming, and the room wasn’t as clean as it should have been, with a stained carpet. It almost felt like they look after the course better than the guests. With such an incredible location, a little more focus on service and housekeeping would make all the difference."
"We stayed here for the convenient location, and had a bit of an emergency. The staff could not have been more kind or helpful. I will make this my regular place to stay every time I am in the area, which is 4-5x a year. Fantastic food too! "
