"A lovely little stay in the Cambridgeshire countryside. It's pretty basic but once you've got the heater going, it's lovely. A beautiful lake to look out onto with parking next to you, it's pretty decent. "

"Overall great stay. Nice, quite and secure property. Lovely views after a long day at work, it was nice to unwind with a beer and look over the field watching the sun set every night. Huge comfy leather sofas. Was never bothered by the property owner, but any questions or problem was sorted right away. Hes a genuinly nice man.Would stay again. Couple things to note. "Drake Cottage is a delightful place to stay. It’s (really) old and beautifully renovated with lots of great touches for guests. It’s very close to the centre of Saffron Walden but quiet.would love to come back. "

"Really nice cottage style property with a log burner and really comfy beds. Only warning would be the stairs as they're pretty steep and the bathroom is downstairs if you need to get up in the middle of the night."

"Ideally situated at a farm with fields around. Compact property with living room/kitchen, bedroom and shower room/toilet. Very comfortable. TV in living room. Very warm reception from our host, Emma, who kept enquiring for further needs."

"Family of five stayed for a birthday weekend. Beautiful homely spacious cottage, perfect for a group or family. Ensuite bathrooms ensured everyone had space & privacy. The garden is perfect for relaxing & games room brought the family together for valuable social time. It is beside a busy A road, so not exactly quiet. So not ideal for a light sleeper. The lakes were not accessible on foot so a drive into St Neots, to the park, river, pubs, shops & cafes was ideal."

"This is an historic cottage that is full of old world character but with all mod cons. It had a wonderful garden with lighting enhancing its beauty at night. We stayed for a week which allowed us to both visit my son’s family and go on trips to Ely and Cambridge - as well as exploring Saffron Walden itself, to which this property is very central. "Overall the property is lovely, not fancy but very clean and well equiped. Our main issue was an error on your listing stating that 3rd bedroom was 2 beds..incorrect. The host solved the issue for us by providing a pull out bed. So all was good."
