Set in the grounds of the owner’s home, in rolling West Dorset countryside between the quaint historic abbey town of Sherborne and the market town of Dorchester, this spacious, single-storey barn conversion for two, with beams, is an ideal holiday location for lovely country walks, golf, and village pubs to wine and dine in, or for exploring many historic houses and attractions nearby and days out visiting the World Heritage Coast or Bath. We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at Barleycorn. The cottage is very spacious for 2 people and well equipped. The location on the farm is simply stunning. Very remote and so silent at nights. A bit of active farm life around is lovely. It's a great base for exploring Dorset and the hosts are wonderful and friendly and make some delicious honey! We had a lovely holiday at Barleycorn. Sarah was extremely friendly and helpful. The cottage had absolutely everything you could possibly need. Cake (home made), milk, honey, eggs, tea and coffee on arrival. Our puppy loved the company through the fence with the farm dogs. Each day, when we got back, she raced through to go out and meet them. I noticed in the visitors book, several were repeat bookings, so that says it all.
