"Excellent Ryokan that has been well maintained and cared for given its long history. The old facility is evident and yet despite that, provided a cosy stay. The host was extremely warm and welcoming and showed the hospitality as one would expect from a traditional Ryokan passed down from decades old. The kaiseki meal at additional cost were delicious and well worth it. Frankly not much around the area and as the host put it best: come, relax and enjoy what the moment has to offer without the hustle and bustle. Fun fact: the hotel has the only elevator in the whole area. "

"Conflicted. The location is great. Room was dirty in ways you don’t want a room to be dirty. There were parts missing in shower so I had to hold the wand to shower. Tub always nice. Paid a lot of this room so didn’t feel the delivery of service matched that. The food was pretty bad and the service was not great overall. Didn’t feel sanitary in how food and dishes around food handled. Loved the area and the hotel staff did try but this place as others have said needs to do some work to improve. "

"Total relaxation and we'll needed downtime. The staff at this were wonderful and welcoming. The area was beautiful, the hotel looks out onto sweeping mountain landscape. We enjoyed the indoor onsen and slept soundly in our traditional accommodations. The food was very impressive, so carefully presented and delicious. We ate breakfast and dinner here but also tried some restaurants with walking distance that did not disappoint. A remarkable experience, thank you for your hospitality. "
