"The place is great."

"Delightfully friendly and kind hosts. Very clean place. Simple rooms, with everything you need, and shared washrooms. Nice breakfast. The shuttle to the lift is nice (although also easily walkeable in 10-15 minutes). The onsen bath downstairs is a definite bonus."

"Helpful staff, beautiful rooms and baths"

"The on site Onsen natural baths, being able to choose either a private Onsen or alternative public baths, in the hotel. The private baths meant we could have the bath space to ourselves and wear a cosi! We were provided lovely fresh linen traditional robes, towels and footwear, fantastic traditional experience staying in this traditional Japanese accommodation, family run, with everyone being super helpful and friendly. Free coffee machine in reception. Why stay in a concrete tower block when...

"I absolutely loved Shibu Hotel! The staff went out of their way to help me at every opportunity, the food was incredible, and the location made exploring Shibu Onsen so easy. I can't recommend it enough! Staff: Before I arrived, they actually contacted ME about a pickup outside their posted pickup hours. I hadn't even asked because I assumed it wasn't an option! They checked the weather for me, and someone even ran after me with an umbrella when it started raining. I was traveling alone, and...

"While this is an older hotel, it is clean, things are in working order, and rather charming and unique. For example, I had a large room with a small patio that offered a beautiful view of the city. It’s in a quaint quiet town with gorgeous views of the mountains surrounding the town. I appreciated the thoughtful touch of hot green tea. The thermos amazingly kept the water hot even till the next morning. Because I went during « low » season in May, I was able to enjoy the onsen to myself ! The...
