"A great place as a base to visit Herefordshire. The food in the pub was all freshly cooked to order and there was a good selection of beers and wines. The staff were excellent particularly the bar manager (Cam), he was totally aware of customer needs throughout the pub. The Arkwright room was a good size, well equipped and clean however, the stairs to the raised bed area could be a problem for some people and the bathroom is downstairs. Overall, for us, it was exactly what we were looking for and the rates were very reasonable. The continental breakfast self served in the communal breakfast room was enough to set us up for the day. I would stay there again."

"Yes we both enjoyed our stay at Somerville house..we stayed at the rear of the property with excellent views of the garden & beyond the town. The room was very good..bed very comfy & a great breakfast the next day .. The house also came with its own history of days gone by !!! Would definately go back there some time . "Our room was absolutely gorgeous. It was extremely roomy overlooking the high street. The bathroom was also spacious and had a lovely shower. We came back late on the Saturday night and the staff helped us find somewhere to get food. They were so helpful. And breakfast....the food was delicious. We will 100% be back Location is right in the middle of Ludlow and everything was walkable "

"The staff are absolutely fantastic and the hotel is awesome! Every room is beautiful but the executive rooms well they’re superb! I’ve been staying here since 2020 and tried other places but this is the best by far in Hereford! "

"We had a short (one night) stay but thought the hotel was great. We had free parking right outside our room which came with standard amenities and was spacious. Every member of staff was so friendly and helpful, just so accommodating. We were ready to book in for a family swim session but were so pleased it was free as we were guests, the pool area is lovely and has a lovely hot tub/ sauna. They provided all towels for the spa too so no need to bring your own from your room. We booked in the restaurant and had no issue booking in with a high chair for our 1yr old, we ordered a light bite for her and the chef was happy to make it smaller for her - they offered this without us requesting. Breakfast was great, help yourself to fruits/drinks/toast and then order a large plated breakfast from the menu - lots of choice and all really tasty. The only thing was that our room was absolutely boiling and we could only open a patio door to let some air in, which was fine until we wanted to sleep as it was a fairly climbable wall by the outside road and didn’t feel it was wise to leave it open all night while we slept. Perhaps there was a way to keep it ajar without it being opened from the outside and we didn’t realise. Overall though, the staff were just super friendly and provided the best customer service, it really makes such a difference when staff are genuinely helpful. "
