"It’s great when you can support an independent motel instead of the big chains. We enjoyed a clean comfortable shower and sleep in a comfortable very well kept little motel. The a/c was wonderful, cool, with a steady sound that never awakened me the way the ones at too many other hotels have on our cross country trip. "
"My fiancé and I took a last minute trip and this place was perfect. Freshly renovated, we booked the room with an open ceiling. I could tell it was newly remodeled just by looking and smelling. The nice young woman who I believe is the owner was very gracious and accommodating. It’s walking distance to old downtown which has plenty of restaurants. The parking lot can be a little tricky due to the design and space. I highly recommend this quaint inn and hope to make a return visit. "
"My family and I stay here anytime we are in the area. The people are great, especially Sebastian at check in. Breakfast is great, and the pool is a nice place to relax. "

10/10 Excellent
"This lovely and amazing VRBO hosted by Diane, who went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable, made for a wonderful romantic getaway for two that we can easily see extending to a week's stay with the whole family. Diane has set the house up to be very generously appointed, with everything from martini glasses to a rice cooker, making it feel like a home away from home (with way more options for entertaining). The space is quiet, clean, and private, yet fun, with plenty to do both indoors and outdoors. We enjoyed relaxing in the hammocks, exploring nature, and sitting outside losing track of time. This retreat is perfect for anyone looking for a serene escape with a touch of adventure! We first stayed for a romantic getaway for two but will definitely be bringing our kids back one day because it's going to be just as nice when they are with us."
"Everything about our stay was great. Communication with the property owner was very easy and the check in and out process was smooth. The house and amazing pool made for another great long weekend getaway!!!"
"Our room was beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. Property is very well kept. Delicious coffee and lite yummy breakfast. Location, location. Great shopping, food and spirits all in walking distance. Looking forward to visiting again soon. "
"This is a recently renovated Gold Rush era hotel, very quaint and authentic. The rooms and bathrooms have been updated to modern standards which is nice, but have authentic period decor/antiques. The town is VERY small and cute, extremely quiet (in general) and a walkable historic self-guided tour. It makes a great base of operations for exploring the area.
A couple of things to know: it is 3 story, but because of the age, there is no elevator (typical with Gold Rush era hotels). They have one room on the ground floor for ADA compliance. The town is so small that they don’t have any other businesses besides a small general store and post office, so you must drive to find anything else to do. As of this moment there is no restaurant or bar, but the hotel owner is working on that and says that pending permit approvals, should open their restaurant and bar this year. During the week, breakfast is just self-serve coffee and cereal, but they offer more on weekends. Despite it being so quiet, there is an active train track not far from the town and although we didn’t hear it (the road crossing was far enough away), it’s worth noting. Most of the small Gold Rush era towns along I-80 have this issue, just be aware.
We were thrilled with the experience and authenticity of it and will go again. "
