"Had the most amazing four night say at Vil Uyana. From the moment we arrived, greeted with a blue water lilly each - a nice touch - to our departure, the stay was a delight. Immediately out chalet was upgraded to a waterside property and we were introduced to our personal butler Prasanna who went out of his way to make our stay a delight, including serving us at breakfast and our evening meal, and showing us round the hotel organic farm where they source much of the ingredients for the wonderful meals in the restaurant situated above the lake. All the staff, including the lovely Dilshani who also served our table were so friendly and welcoming at every turn. Our ‘chalet’ was so comfortable and roomy we couldn’t believe it and staff came twice a day to service the room. We also took advantage of the hotel naturalist staff and enjoyed a birdwatching trip and a night time walk around the estate searching for the Loris who live there. Importantly for us the sustainability of the project is impeccable with as much use of local materials and as possible and a genuine commitment to sustainability. We were also keen to use local Sri Lankan hotels and guesthouses on our trip and Jetwings is just that, employing and training local people, especially young people and women ‘returners’. Brilliant!"

"Lovely setting with pool and beautiful garden. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was great. I thought this was good value for the price we paid. Areas for improvement: no towles supplied initially (had to ask), lack of toiletries in the room (no hand soap), wifi does not work, food at restaurant quite expensive. We wanted to have two beds but the rooms have inbuilt king beds so there was a small uncomfortable single bed added. No room service unless you ask and provide your key."

"This is a beautiful property with spacious rooms that make you feel like you are living in a lush green space. Clean rooms, nice space to work, comfortable bed. The only small complaint I have is the internet was a little slow, video calls for work were blurry, but it worked! Breakfast buffet was really good with lots of options. Bar was pretty pricy but it was nice. The pool was also a welcome amenity after hiking. Would definitely recommend. "

"We loved our stay at the Hungry Lion - super close to the Sigiriya rock (we walked). The nicest thing is the location and friendly atmosphere. For a budget accommodation the room was clean and fresh, a few ants in the bathroom but no big deal. Air con was great -3 restaurants to walk to. A rustic stay in a beautiful location for seeing wildlife. This was one the best parts of our trip and would love to have stayed longer so much wildlife at the location we saw 2 hornbills and elephants on the road on our drive out. Thank you to the lovely people there and we did like your dogs x "

"Really nice bungalows with very strong AC. The garden has a really nice view of Sigiriya rock. Good breakfast included, they also offer a decent buffet dinner. Sigiriya Rock is about a 15 minute walk, whereas the main village area is a bit further. After visiting Sigiriya in the morning, we decided at the very last minute to catch the train from Habarana station (30 min drive from Sigiriya) to Colombo. We were struggling to contact a tuk-tuk driver with so little notice, so one of the employees offered to drive us in the hotel van, since he was already dropping off staff members in that direction. 10/10 service, very thankful."
