Home Away from Home

We travel to the Simsbury area just to stay at Green Acres B & B. There is a reason we returned to Green Acres B & B so many times. It is just a professionally, well-run establishment. The bedding is supreme, the home-made breakfasts with candlelight has so many offerings and the grounds as well as the antiques around the house are in wonderful taste. If those raves are not enough, it is pet-friendly too!

Green Acres exceeded our expectations. Cathy and Jim the owners were so nice Beautifully decorated for Christmas even a Christmas tree in our room. Rooms were spotless. Cookies and candy in our room. Breakfast..wow…absolutely delicious made by Jim. Pool in the backyard. Will definitely will Be back.

This b&b exceeded all expectations. Cathy and Jim are the best hosts.We had 2 sumptuous breakfasts. This b&b is a charm box and there are chickens and doggies to entertain you. We'd definitely stay here again.

We always enjoy scary at the Green Acres. The setting is lovely; we enjoy the dogs and chickens; and, the food is delicious and more than one can eat. I would highly recommend staying here!

The house has been beautifully restored, without seeming too modern...but it does have ALL modern amenities! The owners are lovely, friendly people; the room we were in was charming, the bed very comfortable...if we had gone when it was a bit warmer we would have had our breakfast on the patio or next to the pool...and that breakfast! we were warned that it would be big, and it was! (And delicious.) Great place.

We spent a wonderful evening at Green Acres B&B. The owners are warm and welcoming and we enjoyed our talks about the charming historic home and beautifully landscaped property. It felt like visiting family. We were traveling with our dogs and even our bunnies and it worked out perfect! They spoiled us with an amazing country breakfast the morning we departed. It's the only place we'll stay when in Simsbury.

Green Acres is the place to be!

Jim and Cathy are the sweetest and kindest hosts. They are thoughtful and accommodating, and their hospitality is unsurpassed. Upon arrival, I was received with a warm welcome by Jim and the furry members of the family, Loretta and Rita. Then I was shown to my room, the Trade Room, where I found a gift bag had been set out for me containing water and snacks. I appreciated this very much, since I came straight from the airport and was hungry! They also provided a menu with breakfast options to select for the next morning. I chose to have breakfast in my room, which was delicious and beautifully arranged. I felt welcomed in the house like I was coming home. Rita and Loretta are absolutely adorable and will come greet you in the morning as well. Green Acres is even more beautiful and charming in person than the pictures suggest. Everything was very clean and tastefully decorated to match the historic nature of the house. Jim and Cathy go above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. The little extra considerations they take made it truly special and memorable for me. I can’t wait to come back!

Wonderful B&B!

Took my wife and daughter up to CT for a getaway. Jim and Cathy at Green Acres are amazing. The property is very well-maintained and our suite was terrific. Breakfast was wonderful. We loved it so much we want to make it an annual tradition moving forward!

A fabulous weekend away with lovely hosts!

We had a lovely weekend stay in Jim and Cathy's beautiful B&B! We enjoyed amazing breakfasts every morning with a wide range of delicious choices, many of them fresh from the garden (and chickens!). The pool was a huge hit with our two children who loved the floats (as did we) and played in the water for hours when they weren't snuggling with the dogs or collecting eggs. Jim and Cathy had an impressive story about their renovation and restoration of this 18th century farmhouse and the large, beautifully landscaped property, work that they accomplished with talent and vision. We really appreciated their thoughtful recommendations for activities each day, and they helped us learn about the area's unique features. Certainly, they made us feel very much at home. We're looking forward to our next stay!

Amazing! Such a lovely quaint home. The hosts were attentive, thoughtful, super friendly, and super flexible. I would return again. The hosts added to my son’s graduation celebration - making it a grand memory. The food, the service, the grounds.

The home itself is beautiful as are the grounds. The rooms are large and the bathroom is luxurious. The breakfasts are the best I’ve ever had at a B and B. I truly cannot recommend it enough. I can’t wait to come back.

Green Acres is a magical, restful place filled with such peace and serenity! I enjoyed staying there so much, I went back the next week to enjoy the backyard, the breakfast, the hosts and the lovely rooms. Really hope to be back so soon. Very inspiring space!!!

This B&B sets the standard by which all others should be judged.

Having stayed in more B&B's than I can remember, Jim and Cathy set a high bar for other B&B's to aspire to. Superlative in virtually every way, my only regret is that with the extremely high ratings bestowed upon this warm, cozy and inviting place (me included), it is increasingly tough to secure a reservation. Plan early, enjoy, you will not regret it.

Home away from home

The B & B is a dream home including all comforts of home. Worthy of many repeat stays, as we came back for our second annual visit with family who live about 15 minutes from Simsbury. Come and experience quality hospitality. The pool and pool house were great, too. Your hosts can direct you to many fun things to see and do.

Just returned from a 2 night stay at Green Acres. The accommodations were exceptional and the breakfasts were delicious!.My husband has Celiac and Cathy and Jim provided outstanding breakfasts each morning.The GF dishes were both a visual treat as well as exceptional taste.The complimentary sherry in room along with snacks coffee, water, and a refrigerator all added to our enjoyment.We appreciated the robes and slippers, as well..The fresh eggs from their own chickens and the vegetables from their garden all enhanced our experience.We plan to return when we are again in the area. This place is one of the best B&B's I have had the pleasure of staying at. The food was delicious and the service was the best!!!! The owners are very accommodating and are the most gracious and pleasant people I have ever met!! Book it you wont be disappointed!!!
