Grassington Lodge

"It’s difficult, because I can understand the wide range of reviews. The fact that there are no staff on site, coupled with an unusual door access system, makes thinking of this as a hotel (never mind the star rating) somewhat of a stretch. Having said that, a mobile number was provided if needed. Our room was clean (although somewhat dated) and had all the equipment we expected. One big issue that we only subsequently learned about was that some of the rooms did not have an en suite. Ours did (with a much-appreciated heated towel rail), but I would have been very annoyed if we had been allocated a room without. Make sure of your room number! The location is excellent. Parking is available, but limited, so don’t be the last to arrive. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and felt we had good value for money."

"We had a huge room with a comfy bed, sofa, refreshments and clean bathroom. Dinner on our first night, following a two hundred mile journey, was very welcome if a little pricey. Nevertheless portions were huge and the food was delicious. We sat in the bar after dinner simply to chill. Breakfast is a help yourself buffet. We had a view of the canal complete with views of ducks, sheep and narrow boats. Everyone was helpful and friendly. Would recommend."

"Everything (Well Nearly Everything) was first class. The Hotel and Location was fantastic. The staff were brilliant and very friendly. The food was excellent. The only downside is that the rooms are tired and need refurb. The stairs carpet is well past it's sell by. But we would definitely stay again"

"Josh and his staff team welcomed us and showed us to our rooms, explained the process for drinks, food and breakfast. Explained the location and parking. The Railway Inn is ideally located in Skipton. Walk into skipton is only 5 mins. The Bar is welcoming, the restaurant is nicely decorated with a great map of the train tracks in the area. Well done The Railway Inn Team! Will be back"

"This is the 3rd time staying at the Gamekeepers and we have never been disappointed, great rooms which are clean and tidy, coffee machine a great touch. The food in the restaurant is great, and the added bonus of the use of the Spa is brilliant, we'll be back again early in the new year"
