Seclusion in the Lost Pines hosted by Jan

Secluded rustic cabin on 255 acres of private pine forest. Enjoy hiking, mountain biking & views from large deck. Cabin's decor is based on local legend & Broadway hit, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, replete with the madam's bed. Fully stocked kitchen with coffee maker, blender, microwave, & dishwasher. BBQ on the outdoor propane grill and enjoy a campfire under the stars (bring your own firewood). 2 miles off highway. Perfect for couples, solo adventurers, and families. Pets are allowed with single $25 pet fee per stay. Up to three pets. Please let us know if you will be bringing yours.

Our cabin is on property that has been in our family since the early 1800s and guests are encouraged to walk, ride (bring your bike) and enjoy the serenity of the area at their leisure. You’ll find the construction of our cabin comfortable, attractive and interesting. Newly renovated as of January 2019 with updated appliances and vinyl flooring throughout. The cabin's interior walls are of cedar and the exposed rafters add an extra charm. The front and back doors are usually open to enjoy the gentle breeze that blows through the cabin. Well water can taste and smell like sulfur. Recommend bringing your own drinking water. Enjoy the beauty of over 200 acres of private land.

Loved the cute cabin. The host responded back quickly. There was an issue with the dishwasher and there were insects that came up thru pipes in 1 bathtub

If you are looking for seclusion this is your place. Very comfortable stay, no neighbors just you and nature. Highly recommended for peace and quiet.

Our favorite place to relax and unwind free from the road noise, and noisy neighbors. This was our third visit and already planning for next year. This cabin is as advertised, quaint, rustic but with the best back porch in Texas. Great for morning coffee or evening drinks and with a view what else could you ask for.

I loved the feel of the cabin on this private property tucked among the pine trees. If you are looking for peaceful solitude, this is the place. Very close to the state park for hiking and the little town is cute too. The cabin was a little buggy, not too bad, but expected since it's in the middle of nowhere. I enjoyed a peaceful solo get away here.

Cute cabin in the woods, and perfectly placed where all of the spots we wanted to visit were 15 minutes away!

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin is charming but comes with most mod cons. We didn’t turn the tv on, instead we loved the rocking chairs on the back porch for relaxing, bird watching and enjoying the forest setting..

Stayed at lost pines cabin during a Colorado River fishing trip. Cozy. Quiet. Beautifully peaceful spot. Every convenience without the stress of a city neighborhood. Loved it.

We got to enjoy this wonderful property again for a long weekend! We love the cabin, walking around the property, letting our dogs swim in the lake and sitting outside watching the stars. Will definitely be back. The host is quick to respond and left a lovely welcome basket.

We spent a few nights hanging out with our dogs and college seniors. We had so much fun hiking, fishing, and jamming around the firepit! The porch and house are just perfect! The hostess, Jan, is amazing! We are planning on making this a tradition. Such a wonderful time!

The cabin is cozy and secluded. Not fancy but very comfortable. It was impressive to see that 2 additional A/Cs had been added to help cope with the extra warm temperatures this year. We will be returning next year. Rick & Chris

My boyfriend and our dogs had the most amazing NYE weekend at the cabin. It was outfitted with all the comforts of home, plus sweet extras in a gift basket. The property was wonderfully secluded and surrounded by trails we took to visit the ponds. The back porch with hammock and rocking chairs overlooked the fire pit area and had an incredible view of the valley below. I could not have had a better experience!

It was the best place for me and my dogs to stay. Being on a 200 acre hidden cabin with 2 big dogs and no one around to bother us was wonderful. The dogs got to explore, hunt and chase critters! I also got to see the stars like I use to at night when I was a kid. I even slept so comfortable which I hadn't in such a long time. Plus, me and the dogs explored everywhere around us. San Marcos, New Braunfels, New Waverly, Cayon Lake, Guadalupe River, Austin, Lake Travis area, Outlet Mall. Yes, you will never regret your stay.

Enjoyed so much, we stayed an extra night! Jan was very responsive. Really dig the Rustic setting. All the necessary, and amenities. AC was the real winner! It kept us cool during 106 outside. Bed was very comfortable. Hammock was a big plus. Will be back.

The cabin is well off the beaten path…and on top of a hill!!! The back porch view is a vista, not a view. It’s absolutely beautiful. The cabin is perfectly rustic with all the conveniences. The road to the cabin is bumpy and rocky. I drive a car so getting to the cabin was slow going but that was ok because of the views!! You just have to be careful. Overall, we could not have found a better getaway. Bed & breakfast’s can’t hold a candlestick to this property!

We arrived early like 5am..there are signs but we got lost for a moment..there are signs that say cabin but very hard to see in the dark..suggestion reflection paint It is a rough ride with dirt, clay and rock road for 1.5 mile in the property..the ride is more than worth it Our hosts were very kind. The cabin was well furnished The only thing (besides the reflective paint) are instructions on what to in case of Tornado warnings and watches and nickel to quarter sized hail and keeping your wind sheild in tact Would i stay there again. Better believe it

I loved the pine trees and seclusion. My dogs enjoyed romping about a little too much. Thank goodness Judson found my dogs then later found me when I was lost. He is around the area, he stays in a different area. He is there only when you need him. The cabin is quaint and cozy. You might want to bring a memory foam topper and some pillows for the futon. Going into Smithville is a must. It has plenty of places to eat and shops to visit. Historic downtown is a must see. We loved our stay here. We enjoyed everything about it. Thank You Judson for your help, and for letting us stay here. We will be back. Sheri Sowell

This was the perfect place for our getaway. The property was fantastic. The cabin was wonderful full of interesting history about the Chicken Ranch and everything we needed to cook and relax. Jan was wonderful and always responsive. The best part for us was being able to let our dogs off leash to run and hike the numerous trails. We will definitely return
