Lookout Lair - Oceanfront Rental, Pool, Beach

This is a sunny, oceanfront condominium located in Seascape Sur, a safe, gated complex on the bluffs of Solana Beach. A comfortable home with spacious bedrooms (one king bed in the master and two twins in the second bedroom) and lots of windows. The prime location provides ocean views that are not to be missed. Enjoy a meal on the balcony while watching the waves crash on the sand. The nearby pool, hot tub, and easy access to the beach are sure to make this trip your best vacation yet. Aside from the oceanfront view balcony, there is a second balcony on the east side of the unit with a view of the pool. This condo comes with High Speed Wireless Internet.
Seascape Sur has two spas, two pools - one heated year round, and two tennis courts. Bring your rackets and paddles! Fully gated and safe, the community also features lush gardening, koi ponds, waterfalls and streams throughout the property. Gate to beach access at the northwest of the property. Assigned underground parking in convenient garage.
It is just a short walk into town which is filled with many fabulous restaurants, shops, coffee houses and bars. The Cedros Design District and the Solana Beach train station are also just a short walk away, and the world famous Del Mar Racetrack is approximately 1.5 miles from the condo. This is a perfect place to enjoy the beach lifestyle in sunny San Diego.
NOTE: No smoking anywhere on property. The fireplace is not working at this time. This unit is not air conditioned.
Professionally laundered hotel quality linens and bath towels are provided. Our properties are cleaned, disinfected, and sanitized in accordance with CDC guidelines.

In accordance with Solana Beach regulations, this property has a 6 night minimum.

Couldn't sit on outside back patio due to 2 large storage containers and dirty old plastic table and chairs. The outdoor door frame in the back room looked like it had been beaten by hammers. What a shame....The employees at Stubbs were great to work with!

It's hard to review this property because we didn't stay there. On the day we were supposed to check in, we were notified that the deck (which was the selling point of the property) was under repair and couldn't be used. Ultimately, we ended up with a much nicer property for the same price. After some initial confusion trying to get hold of us, the property management team was excellent about accommodating us, so I'd give our interactions with them 4 stars (3 for communication, 5 for check-in).

The property itself was great at Seascape Sur. This was our second time staying in the complex, both times with an ocean view. The week started out great, then the first full day there was loud banging above us, all day. Stubbs Property managers, who we rented through, were unaware of it, and when they looked into it, said it was deck maintenance above us and would last 2 days total of our 7 there. Unfortunately for us, 2 days turned into 5 days, so most of the time we were there, was loud banging, debris on our deck from above, view of workers on ladders, instead of the ocean. We had to leave every day, all day. Not what we paid for. After many complaints to Stubbs, they offered a 10% discount. Not great but something I guess. We would have much rather had the ocean view and no hammering. Not sure if we would deal with them again, but the personnel we dealt with were good at communication and apologized but that was as far as it went. Nice property unless someone’s deck above is being worked on, which, in our opinion, will be happening more as the units age and deteriorate.

Great location, beautiful property, aged furnishings but clean. The only bad were the beds...worse than any roadside economy motel I've ever stayed. Old hard spring mattresses. Aweful. I dreaded going to bed every night. Thankfully waking to the ocean sounds made it worthwhile.

When we saw the bedroom was at the back of the unit, it concerned me it might be too hot, but open the patio and it was cool all night. Spent our days at the beach, then back to the jacuzzi, dinner on the patio, so relaxing.

Two days after check in notified that the pool next to our room would be closed for maintenance. Although unhappy, we didn't complain until the construction noise started before 8am. It was right next to our condo. We had to keep windows closed due to dust & noise. It was loud & warm. We tried to get away to the clubhouse but it had been closed also, without notice. We were only offered a $100 future credit. With so many places to stay, would recommend you select somewhere else. Also, beware of longer balcony it is in poor condition and seemed unsafe(cracks, movement, etc) Don't let poor management ruin your vacation, pick another location.

The unit needs total refueling. The kitchen cabinets are the very old painted type. They have no draw slides and are warped and difficult to open. The appliances,stove,washer,are corroded also the bathroom faucets. No recycling container. Everything was old.

Walk in the door to a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean. Out on the balcony you realize that you're on a cliff, so the view is even better. A short walk out of the complex brings you to the stairway down to the beach which is very clean with multiple lifeguards. The master BR is fairly spacious and has a walk-in closet. Second bedroom is good for the kids. Full kitchen and 2.5 baths. The pool and jacuzzi are within 100 feet of the front door. All of the major San Diego attractions are less than a 30 min drive. We would definitely go back.

The condo complex was beautifully landscaped with running streams with waterfalls and flowering shrubs. The beach outside our unit and very clean and nice. The stairs leading down (127 of them) to the beach were well maintained. Not a bad trek--even for a bunch of aging "seniors". The employees at Stubbs were wonderful and were very helpful and accommodating. Enjoyed our vacation very much
