Having spent a week here I grew to appreciate all the little things that added to the comfort of my stay. Family owned and run, the level of service was both personal and top shelf. I have traveled the world and don't stop to spend time reviewing one corporate run hotel over another but here I am happy to spread the good word for this lovely family and boutique hotel. Classic colonial hotel steps to the historic district, we regretted leaving.

This was my first visit to Cuenca, and I absolutely loved the city. Hotel Azul de la Plaza was an excellent base to explore the Centro Historico. The room was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated, and above all, very comfortable. The location really cannot be beat, the price was more than reasonable, and there was parking available in a secure lot. When I come back to Cuenca, I will absolutely stay here again.

My husband and I so enjoyed our three night stay here over Easter. Everything was superb, and I can't recommend it enough. We had dinner in the hotel on the first night, and the food and service were so good, we weren't tempted to have dinner anywhere else. Choose a table in the conservatory, which is like dining in a jewel box. I highly recommend the strawberry "carpaccio" served with basil ice cream. Beautiful, clever and very tasty!

We spent 16 days at Hotel Ensuenos. The staff at the Hotel was very friendly. It's family operated. They provide breakfast every morning at no additional cost. If you need to eat dinner, you tell them what you want they'll cook it for you at a minimal cost. The cleanliness of the place is impeccable. The location was great because we had access to public transportation easily. They clean your room, empty the garbage etc. I will definitely come back again.
