"This guesthouse is an interesting use of an old schoolhouse in an area of Iceland with only a few other options. We found it a great stopover, and it has a relationship with the neighboring Fontana baths, a developed hot spring facility. "

"Great spot to see the Golden Circle from, without driving all the way from Reykjavik with all the tour buses. Newly renovated, comfortable beds, nice showers, cool little hot tubs in the middle of the property, and beautiful bar/restaurant area. Kind of sad they didn’t let us know about happy hour when we checked in, but they DID honor the Expedia VIP perk for a free drink. Somewhat of a side note: if you get hot easily, on a sunny summer day, one side of the hotel (where the rooms face the sun all day with their floor-to-ceiling windows) gets REALLY hot. Like a greenhouse. Needless to say, they don’t have AC or fans in Iceland. I had a hard time falling asleep until it got way late and we aired out the room via the mini window. "
