"It’s a very nice and cozy house in a quiet location. We saw deer walking around everyday. The owner replies message every quickly. No gap in communication. Everything is new, clean and well prepared. The house is decorated with all Christmas elements, even prepared a box for kids to make their own Christmas tree decorations. It’s about 40min driving distance to Dodge Ridge Ski resort. 15min to Twain Harte Grocery Market. Overall highly recommended."

He let us check in and out without any time restrictions. The place is just 20 min drive from the dodge ridge ski resort. The place was very tidy and clean with the exception of the fridge and the microwave. I would strongly recommend it to stay. "

"We chose to stay here for an early Christmas gathering with our family. The children loved that they were able to have their own space. Everybody had a wonderful experience here, especially being able to be around the forest and mountains. The cabin had a fully equipped kitchen, with all the necessary appliances, utilities, pots, pans, and even some seasoning. The five rooms had plenty of blankets and pillows. "Fine stay, everything was clean and worked. Breakfast was sparse, waffle batter tasted like a cheap ice cream cake cone. Also, there was no milk. Pretty annoyed I was charged $6 after the fact for parking ... on a surface lot ... at a motel."

"My wife and I loved our visit to the Gunn House Hotel. We met Harry who is wonderful and very helpful. And he's quite a good chef for morning breakfast. The room was clean and the air conditioner worked great. We sat outside our room in the evening with our tablets and watched all the cars go by on Washington St. I give an A+ to the staff and Harry for their great hosting. We will be back. Take care for now, Kevin & Debbie."

Sonora Gold Lodge

Sonora Gold Lodge

8/10 Good
"The Sonora Gold Lodge is one of the few remaining independent old fashion motels in the area. It is old, so you expect some quirkiness. The King size bed was new and the flooring was new. So, they have done some upgrades. I really like the fact that I could park my motorcycle right outside my room and it was very quiet. I needed a room for the night because I was in town for two events and did not want to drive the hour home between. I was looking for the most affordable room in town. The Sonora Gold Lodge was exactly what I needed. I caution you though, if you are looking for a modern, high-end place to stay this is not it. If you are looking for a clean bed and shower that is a bit retro and quirky this is perfect."
