"Needlessly complicated check in process - why did I have to supply my ID? There is no UK legal requirement for this and most places don't do it. "We have stayed at Astor house before so we came back to the same apartment. They had upgraded the sofas to recliners which was a nice surprise. The apartment itself is easy to get to clean and Torquay town centre is a short walk away. It has a great view over the beach side of Torquay and the area is quiet. The place is clean and well maintained and the host kindly provided some biscuits and milk. I would highly recommend this place."

"The advert on the hotels.com website did not match the facts of the stay. The advert states free parking it was not it cost me £30 for the stay. We spoke to the owner who stated that the advert was not placed by him. It was the fault of hotels.com as he does not use them you get your info from a 3rd party All I know is that I am £30 out of pocket. The stay was good as I can not blame hotels.com for all the rain."

"We arrived in the middle of the night. Staff had made sure to keep your keys safe. Great communication. No hassle, not too much paperwork. However would have loved it if they served breakfast. Welcoming staff in the morning."

"Lovely hotel full of character, little tired in places but that didn’t affect its charm. Beautiful view from the luxury room. Nice big room and lovely bathroom. Maid service excellent. Breakfast did not disappoint and again with beautiful views over the sea. Would book again. Staff all very polite and helpful."

"Room was good with everything your need. Need was very comfortable and room was nice and clean. Breakfast was excellent with a large choice of hot and cold offerings. Parking is good with it's own carpark. The only downside was we were woken at 02.20 on the morning by the fire alarm going off due to somebody smoking on their room. Not the hotels fault just some inconsiderate guest with no respect for other guests in the hotel so can't really blame the hotel for that . At least we know the fire alarm works😄"
