Top South Texas Hotel Reviews
Isla Grand Beach Resort
10/10 Excellent
"We stayed in Room 156 on the first floor. Great location near pool & beach. Restaurant was clean and food was great. All the bar servers were nice. Would stay here again."

Menger Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"This is a magnificent grand hotel with a remarkable history which is chronicled in photos and museum cases all over the hotel. Located adjacent to the Alamo, there are even reenactments presented daily on the lawn just outside the front door. This time we stayed in the Lily Langtry Suite and it was wonderful. It consists of a parlour, a bedroom, and 2 full bathrooms which we used individually. Furnished in the period of the late 1800's, it was clean and comfortable. The infamous Menger Bar is a must to visit and staff there are full of ghost stories. They even have a printed pamphlet of them all. It is a glorious building with rooms of all types. We eventually hope to visit them all but the amenities are lacking now. I was told that the State of Texas operates the hotel now and I can see the difference: Parking runs $60+/night which I thought was ridiculous, so we parked for at a nearby garage for $43. There used to be a functioning restaurant on site but it sits idle now. No room service any more or morning breakfast. That was disappointing, but it won't stop us from going back!"
