Peaceful, cozy, good value stay

Hotel was very cozy and staff very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was very good value and very filling. Would definitely look to come back, located very conveniently to small towns and walking trails. Perfect couples retreat.

Good but no chef

Room was satisfactory. Main problem was lack of chef, hopefully only temporary. Only had one meal, 2 x burgers, which took nearly 50 minutes to arrive. We didn't risk breakfast as the local steam fair wanted us in before 0900 and we couldn't afford a similar delay. Really good otherwise so would use next time.

Lovely stay

Spent a lovely few days at the Woodlands hotel with a friend and our two dogs. Staff were very friendly and the rooms were nice. If you are looking to take a dog with you it's a great choice. They have a lovely big safe garden, with a gate leading straight out to the forest. There is a bar area where you are allowed to have your dog with you during breakfast and dinner and the food is very good. If you are not a doggy person, there is a separate dining room, so you don't have eat with dogs around if you don't want to. Some nice pub type restaurants just a few minutes drive away too if you are staying a few nights and want a choice of places to eat. Great choice for a New Forest break.
