Oyster Fleet Hotel

8/10 Good

"Having stayed at the Oyster Fleet Hotel on quite a few occasions now. I was pleased to be given a ground floor room in the ajacent building. Which had its own entry and exit door. The rooms as always are kept very clean and with a comfortable bed etc. Now on this occasion myself and my wife were kept awake until the early hours of the morning with the television blaring out music by one guest nest door. Well if that wasn't bad enough. We then had another older guest the other side with what I could only describe as having social problems. What with her cursing all night into the early hours of the morning, the television blaring away. Not only describing she didn't want to go to jail again over a long and highfluted extremely loud conversation with her brother. I found myself totally exhausted having had very little sleep over my three day stay. Otherwiseothe hotel is in a great location in Canvey Island with very freindly and helpful staff."

Seven Hotel

8/10 Good

"The hotel was very surprisingly pleasantly decorated and stylish inside and out not feeling like you were in Southend so don’t let the positioning fool you excellent walking distance from theatre hence reason for staying there staff were very friendly and helpful the sea view was a sea view and not just a glimpse , restaurant food was very good and tasty . However fancied a late night snack called room service which took forever to arrive. Can’t be perfect but definitely worth staying there"

Holiday Inn Express Colchester by IHG

8/10 Good

"Hotel was very good and the staff very helpful and friendly. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was very good. Breakfast in the morning was a buffet style and there was everything you needed all was tasty. Our bed wasn’t very comfortable it was very firm. The twin room beds were much more comfortable. The rooms and hotel were beautifully kept everywhere was very clean and tidy. The bathrooms with the big walk in shower were great. They only have 1 ev charger and unfortunately it wasn’t working it would have been useful to know that before we arrived. As more people have electric cars now maybe they should email if it’s unavailable so you don’t rely on it. The staff were super helpful explaining where the nearest one was. Also it says on the website food can be ordered up to 21.15 when it was 20:45 which needs to be updated as we were just inside the time when we arrived. It would have been annoying to have to find somewhere had we arrived a little later."
