"We foolishly assumed that we would have enough time to pick our luggage up and make it back to our train to Glasgow. This was not the case and I phoned the front desk and the young man had our luggage ready to go so we could throw it in the cab and make it back to the train in 7 minutes. Miraculously we made it because of the young man working on May 30th at 6pm who had a line up people to check in and yet had our luggage ready for us. Thank you so much, we made our train and our next hotel reservation because of you!! We really appreciate it!!"

"Neil is a phenomenal host who has thought of everything. And if you want to know about the history of Scotland or England or want to discuss it, you've come to the right place! He's incredibly knowledgeable about a variety of topics. He's also a tremendous cook and has a great sense of humor. And the view of Ben Nevis right out the window is to die for. We slept very well in the super comfortable bed and woke to the sound of chirping birds."

Onich Hotel

"This well-appointed hotel is right on the shore of Lough Linnhe, with its own beach, garden, terrace and free parking. The staff are lovely - efficient, helpful and full of smiles. Although it did at first seem a little pricey at £200-plus per night in May, this included a good breakfast. Our room in the main hotel was comfortable, well-maintained, had a lovely view and modern facilities, including a decent smart TV - a rarity, it seems in the Scottish Highlands! The restaurant was reasonably priced and offered wonderful wide views. A great base from which to explore this spectacular area."

The Garrison

"The location was great and the beds were comfortable. Close to restaurants and grocery, able to walk. Everything was clean and maintained. They even had a travel cot set up for my little guy. Only complaints were the parking and the fact that our building was in a separate building at the back of the property and only accessible by stairs. It was inconvenient because you had to haul your bags from the front as it was closed off to driving. The parking lot had minimal stalls and you had to park a half block away and pay."

"Great stay - the place is being renovated and bits not yet open to the public but my room was clean, modern and very comfortable. The staff were super helpful, kind, professional - all of the good things. Can’t wait to see it all complete and would certainly stay here again. Laura"

"Wonderful! We are a couple with an 8 year old. From the moment we stepped on, we were greeted by the warm, efficient, professional owners. The hotel was amazing and traditional. Others have said dates it’s not, it’s traditional and wonderful and not Griege with weird hotel art; there are family photos and stag heads and board games and squishy sofas and a real fire and books. The bar and lounge are somewhere you can actually relax in, in the day or the evening, the staff are wonderful and quietly attentive, without being intrusive. This place is MADE by the owners, it’s a true gem and one of a kind. It even has a private beach! It’s a private hotel so no walk ins for meals and the food is unbelievable!!! Absolutely adore this hotel. If you want a modern, generic hotel with all the bells and whistles, it’s not that. The walls aren’t straight, the decor is original and homely, the rooms aren’t straight lines and boxes, the pile sockets are just the standard 3 pins. The lamps are large and unique, there are frills and patterns and they have character and eves and cute little windows. Yes there’s the odd bit of wallpaper that’s bubbles very slightly, but this hotel oozes character and the owners are wonderful! Best food we had on our whole 10 day, 7 hotel Scotland trip! We will be back! (And we never go back)"
