Built in 1856, this "Lincoln Era" structure is a landmark Springfield property, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Located directly on Historic Route 66, the mother-motor road of America!

The building has undergone a complete top to bottom renovation, undertaken by none other than the patron saint of 6th Street and preservation Icon, Carolyn Oxtoby. The unique structural features and unique design elements were saved and re-purposed during the renovation.

The Fisher-Latham Building represents a once-common, but now comparatively rare style—the mid 19th Century classically-inspired commercial building. The structure is actually a pair of three-story buildings dating from the 1850s.

The smaller section to the south was updated and remodeled circa 1900 and includes projecting oriel windows on the second and third floors. This remodeling expressed the post 1890s Columbian Exposition’s Classical Revival influence.

The simple cornice and metal window hood ornaments are hallmarks of the earlier style, with the window hoods being especially important to the Greek Revival style.

There are three retail boutiques stores on the ground level, The Wild Rose Boutique and Gallery, a local gem featuring over 20 local artisans and their craftworks. The Wild Rose gallery is the place to find unique treasures like nowhere else!
