I had arrived early after a terrible experience at another hotel and the staff were SO NICE and the property was very nice. Decent breakfast and nice lounging areas. Nice view. Many things in walking distance including Dumb Records and Prairie Archives as well as capitol attractions. Absolutely recommend this hotel if you’re spending time in Springfield.

The beds were very comfortable and clean. The bathroom was clean and spacious. I booked two rooms with four guests and each room only had one packet of coffee and one body towel. When we went downstairs for breakfast at 8 AM, all the hot options were empty. There was a person that apologized and said they were working on it but after 30 minutes, we just had toast and left. And I’m sure it’s my fault for not checking the amenities more closely, but there was no mini refrigerator or microwave. The carpet in the hallways and in the rooms is pretty dated, which gives the appearance of being less than clean, but I do feel like it was clean.

I choose it because its quite and worked well for my schedule. No house service was offered as they do it on demand. Old times are dead when house cleaning was available every day for every hotel. Now rates are higher but no house cleaning anymore. Staff was attentive and did provide whatever needed. Breakfast is available and basic with eggs, meat and juices. Overall decent property and will likely choose it again. Parking is plenty and free.

Reading reviews, I was leary. Comparing my experience to the reviews, you can’t beat the price and goes to show for me that reviews are nice but I’m glad I only read them after I booked. (Which I would typically read reviews first and not sure why I didn’t this time tbh.) We had a 10/10 overall experience at a great price. The hotel lobby is nice, new and appeared clean. We had a top floor room and it was completely fine. Bed comfy. No noises that kept me awake. Brought my own pillow so can’t attest to theirs. Blankets/sheets comfy and clean. The bathroom flooring and shower just needs updated IMO but it didn’t affect our stay. The reviews state as well as the email from the hotel after booking that there is a limited continental breakfast, but we slept in too long and missed it however at 9am departure, I smelled bacon so I can’t assume it was all that bad? but I can’t say for sure. Staff was very friendly, efficient, polite. Parking easy. Seems like a fine area, a block from the Capitol. The closest parking lot was full when we arrived back to the hotel for the night but we got upfront street parking. I’d stay again.

While the bed was comfortable and the room was clean, the bathroom is odd - toddler low toilet and vet high sink counter. The gym is in the farthest dark hallway of the basement and was very musty with flooring curling up. It didn’t feel very safe. The breakfast was maintained well by the cook but the room is very dark.
